Indeed it was the Vic, and I'm sure he'll do that. The irony is that during my usual afternoon visits social distancing was in place without being needed! Okay, some practice . . . "one for the road please Phil"

My apologies, I've only just noticed your reply!

I agree ref the Verdant, a lovely beer that will be top of the list if/when my beer shop has it back in stock - very sessionable without being too easy, for me anyway, to just smash it down in minutes. Intimately Spaced Pylons was another recent Verdant that really hit the spot.

I'll take a look at those links - cheers!

A good evening of boozing last night, and the hangover today was not at all punishing. Result!

This was absolutely excellent. The tasting notes on the back of the can nail it. Very feint hint of coconut and mint, and a slightly herbal note. Really refreshing in the summer sun.

Followed promptly by this tasty number from Norfolk’s finest...

Then this lovely DIPA, Verdant at their best, with a cheeky Pizza Hut takeout...

And last, but by no means least, dessert in a glass from the ever-reliable Kernel...

Tonight is my last night of 10 nights of being the on-call engineer for our site. The rota changes at 7.00am tomorrow. I have told my wife I may well be having a beer for breakfast.

I don't normally drink on a school night but it is Father's Day after all.

I have had one of these for years.

Lovely pint on draft that, stayed at a hotel that had it as their main draft beer last year. Suffice to say I tucked in!

An interesting one from Cloudwater, but not entirely to my taste.

At 8% it’s not the ideal drink for warm evenings either!

Edit: due to this thread I’ve just put a large order in at Adnams. Welcome15 is the code for 15% off first orders, and I had to spend over £80 to get free delivery. Obviously.

£80 on beer? Almost as mad has having more than one watch.

Adnams have some lovely brews. I look forward to seeing what you have ordered Kirk.

Had an hour out on the bike when I finished work, its certainly hot today.

Fancied a drink when I got in and this was in the fridge. Perhaps not beer in the usual sense of the word but increasingly refreshing after an hour's pedal pushing.

Normal service will be resumed tonight with Shipyard IPA.

It's said that you should never go food shopping when you're hungry, perhaps I shouldn't have been thirsty when I went beer shopping...

    From L-R - 2 * West Coast IPAs, 2 * DIPAs, 2 * DDH pales, 2 * goses, 2 * New England DIPAs, 2 * NEIPAs, 2 * sours, 8 * pilsners (2 in 'photo), an Imperial Double Pastry Stout and a DDH TIPA.

If this little lot doesn't quench my thirst...

Thanks for the birthday wishes Alan! In your heart of hearts I think you already knew the answer . . .

    . . .

PS. I texted Phil, the barman from the Vic, earlier to ask if he knew what Michael's thoughts are re the the lockdown "easing" and how he might be able to open in the future. I was very surprised when he replied that he thinks it'll be re-opening on July 4th, I really didn't think it would be viable with the current regulations. Watch this space . . .

Blimey, glad you didn’t think it was shit!

I’m really enjoying more lagered beer at the moment. All this sunshine and warm weather, plus there are some really lovely crisp beers from UK brewers, as well as good’uns like this from our continental pals.

Another I enjoy is Jever pils, have you tried that by any chance?

Used to buy a crate of 500ml bottles a week when I lived in Frankfurt, 12 bottles for less than €20, including deposit!!

    Thursday night specials...

Another silly-busy week at work again this week. On it tonight...

Reckon I can sneak one more in before Mrs Works starts complaining. Slow start tomorrow for sure.
