Hello and welcome!
(Can't help on the repairs question, sorry.)
Well, I've been lurking here for a few months and have even bought a few items from posters on the Sales Corner, but I haven't taken the time to introduce myself properly.
My name is John Parker and I am a US expatriate living in London. I got started with watches many years ago, but my collecting in earnest has only really started in the past few years. My biggest failing is that I tend to buy watches that I like but that I never sell them -- even if I don't wear them all that often. Still, it could be worse.
I do have a question regarding repairs. A while back, I purchased a Breitling World, a quartz watch with four separate movements, originally sold during the 1980's, I believe. Yes, I know that it's quartz, but I have a fascination with multi-zone watches, and I like it very much.
Sadly, two of the movements have started to run slow. I'm not sure if this is a sign of a weak battery, if the watch needs a good cleaning, or if it's something more serious.
Does anyone here have a recommendation for someone in the UK that could take a look at the watch and give me a diagnosis. It would be great if I could find someone in London, although that's not an absolute requirement.
Thanks for any and all suggestions.
John Parker

Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Hi and welcome. Pics of your collection would be appreciated by all
Hello and welcome. Even Breitlings need new batteries! If both movements started slowing at the same time, then they must use a shared battery.
Hello & welcome to the forum! Sounds like your Breitling just needs a new battery ..

Hi John, welcome.
I can't help with your repair question but as a lover of the Breitling brand I'd be interested in seeing pics of your World if you have any!

Hello and welcome
Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!
I got a good tip for the repair in a PM that I will follow up. I do hope that it's just a battery.
Photos of the collection might be a tall order, as I haven't really taken any to date. But I will take a photo of the Breitling in the next few days and post that.
Hey there and welcome! Looking forward to seeing pixies of the Breitling. Four time zones!? Yikes.
Hi John
Welcome to the forum.!
John is certainly one of the good guys - we had a transaction a few weeks ago and the guy is top class.!
Regarding the quartz repair - you could give this guy a call:
http://www.kkhservices.co.uk/4555.html
He is a trained watchmaker with Seiko, but I am sure he would be able to look at your quartz.
Thanks
