Another vote for Pasture - an amazing experience - had the private dining room upstairs and it was great (includes an ipod linked to spotify!).
Where I live there’s a distinct lack of steakhouses. I guess they are more in cities. I often go to Hawksmoor when I’m in London and it’s always really good, as was the one in Manchester last year. Went to Gaucho a few years back and that was good from memory.
Lately I’ve been to Pasture in Bristol a couple of times and it was fantastic. Best meal I’ve had in a long time.
Where’s your favourite?

Gaucho is amazing, think I'd struggle to top that one. There was a good one outside Bury called Jabberwock and another close by called the Village Store, both very highly recommended.
Went to the FirePit in southport last month on a recommendation from here, also excellent.
It's hard to bugger up a good steak, you just need to find a place that uses really good cuts of meat and not cheap rubbish.

Probably a bit far to make the trip for just a steak, but Peter Lugers in New York is very good.
A bit closer to h9me, I’ve always found the Meat Locker in Belfast top notch.
If you're ever in Quito, La Casa di mi Abuela. Best steak I've ever had!
I’ve been to Miller and Carter a few times recently and they seem to do a pretty good job for a chain place.
However for something exceptional Porterhouse in Oxford is pretty bloody amazing:

I’ve eaten steak all over the world and that’s up there with the best of them.

Hudsons in Bath.
Against the massif I don't rate Hawksmoor at all, average food in a noisy hipster setting.
Best I ever had was Texas Land & Cattle Steakhouse in Dallas, slap bang in cow country.
Not a steakhouse as such, but one of the nicest pieces of beef I've had in the UK was the Galician steak served up at the Basque restaurant in London 'Lurra'. It was truly wonderful. The thing that is different in this place is the age of the animal when slaughtered...much older. A very different flavour, especially of the fat, which was much more yellowed than that from a younger animal.

If you're ever in Amsterdam you must book a sofa/chair here - https://www.castellamsterdam.nl/ you got to have your meal on a tray but its really worth it, try the onion soup for starters too..

My house. Never had better out than we have in.
Old roadside steakhouse on the outskirts of Maynardville in Tennessee served the best steak and ribs I have ever tasted. Two Bulls here in Hastings served the second best steak I have ever tasted.

Gaucho is consistently good. I like the one near Tower Bridge if you can get a window seat.
I love steak.
Gaucho in Richmond because the location is also great. Hawksmoor and Goodmans in central.
Roxie steak (there’s a few in SW London) make a nice steak for the money. I’ve also enjoyed ‘Kod’ in Copenhagen and Trancher Entrecote in Oslo, as well as ‘La vecchia lira’ in Milan.
Prime at the Bellagio. Absolutely fantastic. If possible get a terrace table.
Love a steak below are some of my favourites
Prime the chandlers cross is by far the best
Hawksmoor is always good seven dials
Gaucho is gaucho
Mash is another good steak house in London
Goodman Canary Wharf
Santa Maria del sur
Bistecca Regina in Florence.
Or find yourself a good butcher and do it yourself.
Another recommendation for Gaucho we go to the one in Brum consistently good
Best steak meal ever Smith & Lewinsky in New York.

I left out overseas restaurants as I’d be talking about Vegas :-) Prime is excellent, as is SW which I’ve been to a few times as I normally stay at the Wynn. Though we normally go next door to Lakeside as they share the same kitchens and that also specialises in seafood, so best of both worlds.
What really got me into my steaks was Michael Mina at Bellagio in 2007 I think on a stag do - tried wagyu for the first time and it literally melted in the mouth.
The Westwood Bar and Grill in Beverley, East Yorkshire. All locally sourced and one of the best steaks around (and have done Gaucho, Hawksmoor and the like)

Hawksmoor Covent Garden always good because they cook my steak well done as asked.
Crazy money for what it is though, so normally Homeslice wins.
Not been to the office in 7 months so hope these places survive.
At home sous vide the steak 55-56C with salt, pepper, rosemary and thyme and brown in a cast iron pan with oil and butter is very hard to bet. Other than that best steaks I've ever had is the old port market, Montevideo off the bbq's or a place in Nelson Mandela Square in Johannesburg called the butcher shop or something (I got fairly drunk so unsure of the name). Both of these suggested are probably useless to you though.

CUT in the Palazzo, Las Vegas.
Crumps Butchers Royal Wootton Bassett, then DIY.
And their sausages are amazing - all 20 + varieties.
Note to self :- Must remember to get black pudding as well in the morning, and a packet of their pork scratchings. :-)

You wouldn’t define it as a ‘steakhouse’ but they only serve steak, so it counts (sort of):

AKA L’Entrecote. Delicious every time.
Blacklock (London) great steak without getting robbed. Used to take clients there, very popular. Hope they survive the lockdown ..
But I’m not sure they beat my picanha done first sous vide and then finished off on the Weber.
Don Julio in Buenos Aires. So good it has ruined steak everywhere else for me since then!
The best steak (ribeye on the bone) I ever had was at St. Barts Smithfield (2014), the next best steak (Hereford ribeye) was at a chain restaurant Block House Berlin (2016).
Ruth's Chris Steak House, Germantown, Memphis.
Blackened ribeye, served on a 500° plate. Just amazing!
Had a very good meal with a friend a couple of years ago at Anthony Worrall-Thompson’s steakhouse restaurant the Kew Grill near Kew Gardens but having just googled I see they closed their doors since :-(
In the States there’s a chain restaurant called Longhorn, and it was always mouth-wateringly excellent!
Best steak I have had since moving to Edinburgh was in Gusto on George Street followed closely by Miller and Carter at Cramond Brig.
If we’re talking best steak ever is has to be the one in a local restaurant in Varadero, Cuba on Christmas Day a few years ago.
My back garden, I have a choice of muntjac, roe or fallow backstrap steaks, or local Sussex lamb.
all butchered by myself for the best cuts.
@number2
i do sell venison as I am registered business but only whole carcass at moment, but if you are passing , you are welcome to produce free gratis.
@chinnock
yep very rewarding, I am making steaks/ribs/roasting joint/mince/cubed, sausages/burgers
dry some for biltong (muntjac is delicious), and use the livers to make pâté
