And now for something completely different

    https://wornandwound.com/introducing...field-watches/

Released today, typical Unimatic minimalism, in a frankly crazy case. I would get one, but I’ve already gone a bit watch mad this year, so I shouldn’t. Interesting design though

    Hate away!

I quite like them, the case does look a very strange shape from the side profile though, I wonder how they would wear?

And did I read correctly that they have an unmarked rotating bezel? Bit pointless surely?

I wonder what the lug to lug is - with that barrel shape case it would need to be pretty small for me.

Unmarked bezel was the U1-F and some of its predecessors. Blancpain did that first though with the Bund divers!

That is an old model re-introduced with funky new colours. Broussard has had one shaped like that for years

    I was very tempted BUT:

    • a grey dial for a "field watch" seems affected...?
    • not keen on the "fashion" element of the brand selling "tool" watches...?
    • at 400 I probably would have taken a punt but not when they added another 88 of VAT at checkout...?
    • dislike that ALL their watches seem to be limited - no repeats , feels manipulative...?
    • surely re-run popular watches, even if its for your own long time fans...?

    Just saying....

PS their new bracelet looks like a lazy knock off oyster - needed a more elegant design, square edged links maybe, not cool enough for a "too cool for school watch" IMHO....

Fashion brand with tax, guilty as charged

    Limited number manipulation, guilty

The bracelet looks well engineered, but I think they all look better on a strap, inc my own U1-FM

Value is an odd thing, although I have just paid £130 for a Breitling fabric strap with no hardware!

Tbh they look a bit.......grey.....to me.

Ideal if you want a watch nobody will notice, and probably won't care about if they do. And at 400 odd quid for a Seiko nh35 movement not exactly cheap!
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

Inside SII NH35, a well known workhorse, but nothing special.
A dial where the flat "6" line irritates me, and
    a "fancy" limited edition ....

    So, nothing special.

And the price is much too high, I think ...

but even with that being said, I may feel a moment of weakness coming on, and the credit card may appear :)

Looks like it’s sold out... kinda glad, couldn’t quite get into the dial, also not keen on some of their marketing tactics - they have a “notify when model available” sign up box but also state elsewhere each model is a limited edition, when it’s gone it’s gone...? Not the way I would harvest emails, doesn’t appear honest...

I’m astounded, I like them , but not enough to go crazy over. I suspect there are some speculators at work

They remind me of some of the new Seiko 5 models. Rather bland. Not for me.
