I hae this mental picture of Eddie sat at his computer with a maniacal gleam in his eye as his finger hovers over the button to click on 'Submit' to update the website. :D

I predict a meltdown. Either TZ-UK, Timefactors.com, or the payment service that Timefactors uses, or any combination of these. It ain't gonna be pretty, whatever it is   :D

    Not a bad idea, actually.

Ticket prices for flights from Canada to the U.K. are reasonable at this time of year, and I can fit a small tent in my carry-on.

Which page will tell us they are ready for sale? I am working in Italy next week so I've no idea how I'll keep track of this, but knowing where to look should help a bit!

Wow, that's a very considerate other half!! I usually buy, secretively wear and then "out" the new watch about six months later - she just doesn't understand me!!!

Oh I think she probably does David :) - its a common SWMBO ruse that I'm sure we are all familiar with....keep the 'new' purchase under wraps for a while and then truthfully proclaim that 'its not new, I've had it for ages!'

Another good one is the "£50 shoes" con. She means £50 EACH!

Anyway I've already got the necessary points as Mrs P was shopping in London yesterday and spent £300 on shoes (Ok there were six of them, but they are only little... )

A standard response from mrs ralphy: "It's not new; I've had it ages - and I bought it in the sales."

As you say, common tactics amongst the women; I suspect they have lessons in schools on these.

That's ok then, I thought it was just me!!! The best ruse was when I told her that my newly aquired Jaeger leCoultre vintage Memovox was an heirloom left by my Grandad - one of the better things about her complete indifference to my watch obsession is that I can get away with all kinds. To her, a watch just tells the time -they are all the same!!!

I've decided to let my brother handle the allocation for this one. That's my brother [s:3vrusjp9]the serial shagger[/s:3vrusjp9] the formerly well-balanced one. He can't understand why people get so worked up about watches so he's sure to be impartial.

    I agree.
Let's face it-- dials with arabic numerals are never going to be completely symmetrical. Arabics, from the completely angular 4, to the completely rounded 8, are just too different from one another. The only way to make the dial "seem" truly symmetrical to the human mind's eye would be to force the numerals into actual unsymmetrical positions-- so when you superimposed those lines and circles the dial would look completely out of whack!
Truth is, the number 4 has always been a trouble maker-- going back centuries. That's why on roman dials the number 4 is represented by IIII instead of the actual roman number: IV. To the human eye, IIII seems in more balance and symmetry with VIII than IV would.

Hi Obsidian. KavKav's and John's gentle advice above is good, the bold red print doesn't work out well. The rest of KavKav's words are good as well though and welcome here. And I also agree with you just how impressive and well done the new Speedbird 3's bracelet is---along with its perfect I think aesthetics, I especially like the design of the pins holding the links together. Yup Chris, guilty as charged! I just looked at his post count rather than his joining date and with gaps in excess of a year between some of his posts,(Yes, I am aware his posting frequency is his own business :) ) it is easy to think of him as a 'newbie' if one does not check. Thanks for pointing that one out.
I stand by my comments though. :D

Best time to purchase on-line after a few that way it is a surprise when you open the package and find a hundred stuffed monkies.

A pal of mine is now the owner of a motorbike & sidecar combo after a (heavy) post-pub visit to eBay! :D

Thing is, we've actually had a lot of fun playing with it - but not as much fun as has been had taking the 'mick' out of him ever since.

In all seriousness - this waiting to pile into the front door makes me feel like a kid again.

A long way away from a civilised reserved list.
The anticipatioon with a reserved list is bad enough but at least you know you will get one in the end.

With this method, you have no idea if you will get what you are after !

Has nobody else noticed that the watch is now up, albeit 'available soon'? The ad is really tempting.
