Had a drop of the local brew last night.

Hawkshead is a great place to visit for lunch and beer.
Cycle store and bakery on site.
What's not to like.
Do a big brewery bash every March (except this one) with live music and tastings of home brew and others. Terrific weekend.
Their red is terrific by the way..

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
Just what I need after an entertaining night out.

A long time favourite of mine.

My last can.
I managed to snag 1 of the 4,500 4pks that were produced a few months back, as yet there aren't any plans (that I'm aware of) to brew any more. They sold out pretty quickly, they'd sell out again should another limited run be produced.

Burp. Unfiltered.

Singha with a delicious biryani (which is a slightly confused match but works).
Well I don’t often throw a beer down the sink but this one was grim. It was so sweet it it was like drinking a coke
This tonight.
Haven't quite made my mind up yet, but not bad.

Mikkeller Limbo Riesling, quite amazing for a 0.3% avb drink- dry January nears its end

Just had these dropped off by my local friendly ale shop. First off will be Polly's Birthday Beer QIPA, 'photo to follow once it's chilled off a bit more.

This evening’s tipple is a Purity Brewing Co “Mad Goose”. Rather tasty, strong hoppy flavour but worth a try. Purity’s “UBU” is very nice too.

One of the bairns gave me these . . .
. . . this one is very nice, despite looking like a glass of pi$$ . . .

Now nicely chilled.
Oh Lordy! A thick, hazy juice bomb of an ale that hides its 13% so well it's borderline dangerous.

Back to a classic . . .

Due to fond memories, and morbid curiosity, I bought 4 cans of this:
Sigh. It’s beyond terrible. 3.5% bog water, devoid of any real taste. What a damn shame.
I used to work around the corner from the Brewery and drinking it fresh on cask was on of life’s simple pleasures.
I will never forgive AB InBev (as they are now) for closing for the brewery and now making this crap. It’s an outrage they are using bees on their cans.
The smell of the beer made my monster friend vomit his watch up.
It’s been a long hard week so I am three down already
I fear there may be more before the evening is out...
Deep, dark and bitter chocolate. Lovely.

One of our favourite beers, thanks Aldi
The 2nd and 3rd of the beers the bairn gave me. Both hazy, as was the 1st. If I was served beer in a pub looking like this it would be returned for either a different beer or a refund. They taste ok, typical light IPA flavours, but certainly nothing special, but look dreadful. A big part of enjoying both food and drink is how it appeals to the eye, to deny that is just affectation. Good beer should be sparkling and crystal clear to show it's condition. I guess the hazy thing is the latest "look at me I know more than you" fashion. Mind I could be wrong, I've only been at it for 45 years! ;-)

Excellent find! I was looking on the Adnams and Hawkshead sites to see if any offers were lurking, I've been really enjoying their offerings. On the Hawkshead site they have a stout I've not seen before, Dry Stone Stout. Also to my great joy they sell Mud City stout, a great favourite that I was buying from Home Bargains for 99p/500ml bottle, 6%! HB haven't had it in for ages. Both duly ordered. Meanwhile, for the sake of repetition . . .

Stocked the beer fridge up today...
All Adnams beers
Blackshore
Ghost ship
Ease up
Currently enjoying a can of their Wild Wave cider. It’s a bit sweeter than I would normally go for but very refreshing.

I would love to sit in a bar with a roaring fire, enjoy a pint of cask with you and debate this topic some more.
Whilst the young’un has been generous in sharing those with you, there are plenty which are rather more flavoursome, and not all hazy gloop.
The world of beer is a broad church, with many styles to be appreciated.
