    Seiko 6138 Chrono shots

I spent the evening cleaning my 6138-3009. Boy did it come up nice. Put an old style bracelet on it and ladies and gentlemen it looks like we have a winner.

Love the old Chronos and this is about one of the cleanest I have seen. The lower sub dial hand is not correct, I think, but pretty close.

    Cheers

    Pete

PS sorry about the big size photos

I have always felt that the reliability of the Seikos far exceeds their somewhat baroque design, but this chrono is certainly an exception!

    Great watch, Pete!

Clean indeed! The design is a great reminder that sometimes less is more.

    Bracelet for 6138

Hi Pete, I'm currently looking for a new bracelet for my 6138b. The one you put on yours looks great! Is it a constant diameter or does it narrow at the clasp? Are they readily available, and if I may ask, where did you buy yours?

    Thank you,

    Paul

Very nice watch and it looks really good on that bracelet, as it did on the Mesh. Something about the simple design on the 8000 series chrono that make them look good on just about everything and this bracelet is a winner.

Speaking of Seiko's I landed a '73 Navigator Timer last week. Poor man's Pepsi GMT 8) , just need a new crystal and it will stand out in it's 70's funky glory...

    Thanks Guys,

regarding the bracelet. 10 bucks shipped to my door.....yea really. There are a few people trying to flog them for 100. It is a constant 20mm, but I had to shave a snidgin off for the 19mm Seiko lugs.

I'm about to order a couple more if he has them. If so I'll post a message here later with the info.

    Cheers

Yes please! Do you think it would go down to 18mm?

OK here's the scoop. My mistake. The bracelet is actually 18mm wide with 20mm lugs so you could certainly shave the ends to fit 19 and 18mm watchers. The guy has shed loads of them. He is in Holland. They go for 7 bucks and 2.50 shipping and he will combine shipping.
