Just on the off chance -
I have a VERY sick 2008 (58 plate) R56 Mini Cooper factory JCW that has a cooked engine (N14C16A).
Definitely needs head gasket but also has an oil pressure problem (all related to the same, high speed incident) so I figure the engine needs a thorough going through but I have neither the time nor the skills.
Anyone here do this?
Many thanks, Si.

If it's the PSA Prince engine, before you spend money on it how is the timing chain?
I think it will be on that age / model.
I’m intrigued on the incident. 3rd to 2nd?

Lohen must be fairly close to you and 1320 too.

Agreed, Lohen are R56 specialists and they are in Staffordshire, although they have a bit of a reputation for being on the pricey side. The N14 engines are reknowned for being problematic.

When i blew one of my M3 engines up i took it to prestige German engines in Peterborough cost a fortune, but done a pretty decent job
Incident was:
Wrong pulley tensioner had been fitted for serpentine belt, water pump bearing disintegrated, water pump cracked, emptied coolant tank contents in a nano second, engine cooked, head gasket blew.........
All in about 20 seconds at about 80mph.
By the time a dipped the clutch and tried to coast to a stop it was all over for the engine.
