Just need to be a little thicker and brushed.
Very nice with the 9 links and nice clasp, very nice indeed.
I asked for samples of bracelets from two companies and this is the first to arrive. It's a good looking bracelet but I think it's too delicate for the 'Bird. It's very well made but I think it's just too thin. The fact that the solid end links aren't a good fit is irrelevant, they would make new end links to fit.
I'll post pictures of the other one when it arrives.

I agree. I don't think it can be made thicker and look right with 9. 5 or perhaps 7 seven would be my choice.Originally Posted by swanbourne
The other sample is 7 links.

I actually rather like the 9 link design, too few and it looses that mesh look that I rather like.
Can they do a satin or brushed finish?
What sort of target price?
Kevin
will be either brushed or satin finish and it has a standard clasp insted of the semi concealed one shown on the bracelet above.

I like the look of that Eddie. Will it fit my SB2?

I can't quite see how the bracelet fits to the watch case.
SB2 has no holes in the side of the case where the bars go, so how would you remove the bracelet if ever needed ? You couldn't get a spring bar in there.
Am i just being stupid ?
Apart from that, i too would be interested in a bracelet .
Regards........G. Orris.
in the end piece on the underside of the bracelet where you can insert something like a fine point jeweller's screwdriver and release the springbar.

Hi Eddie,
Thin is not a bad thing, IMO. Have you ever seen the IWC Doppel on the bracelet? In contrast, it looks like a Hummer on 13" wheels... Does this analogy work? Anyway, I think it can pull it off nicelet, but like the others said, it must be brushed or satin.
VERY COOL STUFF MY FRIEND!!!
Can't wait to see the other contender.

I'm not a particular fan of end pieces that attempt to look like they are continuations of the links, it never quite seems to work for me.
What do others think about either straight end bars, or end pieces that fit the case but are smooth?
Let's not go TOO thick, this isn't a diver, after all....
Kevin
...I do not perticularly like the end pieces that look lke the links on most "beeds of rice / mesh" style bracelets, but I find that solid link "oyster" or Omega style bracelets can pull this off.
I think it should have a fitting end link, but smooth, like on this Mark XII:
I had an Angular Momentum with a straight end, didn't like it all that much...
That would work well for me too.
This could end up being a very "classic" look for the speedbird, very evocative of the '50s style.
Kevin
I really like the grains of rice style of bracelet. I think it could look quite good as long as the end pieces are designed to visually transition from the bracelet to the lugs. An added plus is that GOR bracelets are extremely comfortable. I have them on two of my watches, and really enjoy wearing them.

Anything is possible but don't we want to keep it affordable?

affordable! But I think we all know you can sniff out the best possible quality vs price, after all you are from Sheffield :P

I was looking at the list price difference of the IWC MK XV with the stainless steel braclet and one with a leather strap. It's over $1000

How can they charge this? They're taking the piss.
Cheers,

I suppose they can charge whatever they like, the market will decide, and presumably it does or they would drop the price. Some folk will pay just to get what they want without considering value and if its their money, I suppose that's fine.
I reckon most forum members are more interested in value and looking at the Dreadnought for instance on spec. alone it rips the pish out of other watches which have 'submarine' in the name.
I suppose you could pay another £2000 for a green box, a wee plastic anchor (what is that about anyway?), and a famous brand. As part of a generation which wears its clothes with the labels on the inside I've not much interest in brands.
