Nice 652 Alun. I love the way the pushers on the LHS of the case balance the crown guard.

Apparently this is Pam 87 proto made for SIHH.
To me it looks like the hands have been replaced.
Grey day

Does anyone here know about the alleged disintegration of some of BMG tech cases?
A very nice summer watch. Similar to my PAM 0010.
I’m afraid my youngest Panerai is one of the very first G series 005 and I haven’t been keeping up with the latest models. No in-house movements in mine, not even the custom shaped bridges. Just the regular 6497-2 movements with a bit of engraving.
I would think that the hands are original. I have a preA1 and there’s a similar mis-match, with the hands considerably lighter/greener than the dial.
It’s easy to tell the difference between the tritium and luminova hands in the regular 44mm models. The tritium hands have longer lume which extends into the triangle at the tip. In other words the lume ends after the tapered point has started. In the later luminova hands the lume slot stops at the taper.
There may be a subtle difference with these too but I’m not that familiar with the subs. I would love a smooth bezel 024 though.
It seems common for the lume on the hands to age differently to the lume on the dial. You see this a lot with most of the tritium dial Panerai, it's the case with both of my subs. Unless you know the service history of the watch and can rule out a hand swap at a service absolutely it's always possible that the hands aren't the ones that the watch started life with, but that isn't necessarily the case IMO and I don't think it detracts from the watch anyway. At least it doesn't for me
My Grail just arrived
Now my Pamily is small but I think it's complete...670 and 671

Congrats Marius. A great pair.
Appreciating this one today, but from afar as still for sale. Have something else in pipeline and this is too nice for day to day. Or is it?
Never too nice.
Those are made to be abused :)

Id keep it as a daily personally ASW.
Always made more enjoyable by the diversity of straps

A lovely collection there Kerry. The 233 is the perfect watch for a lot of variety in straps.
Of course, let's remember that when it comes to straps, less really is less ;) I don't even want to think how much I've spent on straps. This was 20 months ago and more have been added.
Ive never got on with OEM straps in leather less the original tunnel strap of the 233 which is still a but thin. Panerai rubber is good but give me a decent Toshi/Jabba any day, ideally with a sewn in flat buckle and one sewn in and one floating keeper.
Then if you want to be really particular then 3 holes only the first 45mm from the lug

I've never been one for croc straps, feeling they're a little dressy for me and I'm more about casual but having worn this on an assolutamente strap for the last year and a half I switched to the croc that Panerai sold the watch with. What a revelation! The darker and shinier brown somehow makes the dial pop more and highlights the shape and finish of the titanium case, I think I'll be keeping it on this strap for the foreseeable.
Although I’m relatively new to Panerai addiction I’ve gone through plenty of straps, I’ve mainly got Toshi, OEM and a couple of Yuran Straps- Must admit I’ve never heard of Jabba Straps, are they that good? Have never seen any come up for sale, people are obviously letting go of them…
Panerai aren't shipping oem gator straps to the UK anymore. CITES too much of a headache.
Have already posted this in the Sunshine thread but this warrants addition here for practical reference. Marius and I were comparing notes on the calculation the other day...
I guess today is the day for these shots in the midday sun.
Solar noon is at 1301 BST today. 1201 GMT. The Equation of Time today is officially -53 seconds i.e. watch is that amount slow so need to add that to get solar noon. http://www.ppowers.com/EoT.htm
Both from today
Now down to just two PAM's but.....so hard to decide which to wear...
Both are gorgeous in my eyes...

More new Toshi shoes. If this doesn't work for me it's gonna be up for the chop.
