Tell ya, that photo really brings back memories. When I lived in Sweden and Norway one of my best mates (old 3 Para lad) and I used to head off to the lakes in various places and sometimes to a mass of small islands around where we lived, and just throw the hammy between two trees, get the kettle on and fish til after dusk. Then it would be a good fire, chat and then up at the break of dawn for some more. I got civilised in my older days and I remember standing a few feet from the shore of a lake on one fine morning, all covered with Head & Shoulders, when my mate woke up and went ballistic, exclaiming in no uncertain terms that the fish might now be difficult to catch but at least those we did land would be gauranteed dandruff-free. :D

there is a beautiful river that flows into the sea at Brandon Creek on the Dingle Peninsual, Co.Kerry.
It's the spot that Saint Brendon was said to have left from in a boat made from leather and he sailed it all the way to America, Tim Severn later left from that same beautiful part of world to recreate that voyage.
An area of outstanding beauty and one that a few years ago really didn't deserve to see me getting all latherd up in Lynx shower gel and diving into the river totallly starkers but i have to say it was one of the most revitalising bathing experiences i have ever had :lol:

You can't sit in front of the PC all your life, every once in a while you have to get out there :wink:
