Hi there. I've just bought a private plate from ebay and the seller has sent me a V778 retention certificate and has signed and dated section 1 and 6 so I can go ahead and assign it to my car.
Will I now automatically become the Grantee once it's on my car, or do I have to put my details in section 2 (Nominee details).

As above but get it done fairly promptly as whilst the seller still has the certificate number they could, in theory, assign it to one of their vehicles at which point you have lost it. They don't need the actual v778 to do it online.
I always find it's a slightly twitchy few days waiting for the new v5 or the new retention certificate!
