RobM at #3 - when I have enquired about getting a valuation (some insurance co's want it up front) I have been quoted circa £60-100.
In addition, some Dealers want to send it off to be inspected (even when Rolex's own provenance is available) before providing the certificate.
By the time you pay the extra for the valuation any saving (doing the Tinternet Trawl) is eaten up.
