Changing battery on a g shock

Anyone know how I get the batteries out? Almost looks like I need to bend the metal but assuming that's not correct.

Whilst I've not changed batteries in this particular model, I think you push down on the part that goes down between the batteries (the top part of your photo), and sort of unhook it.
I've done it on one of my digital watches.

As Rod says, the top bit between the batteries is like a hook that you need to unlatch. Whilst Ive not done one thats exactly the same as that, it was similar.

Ive never understood why people do battery swaps without removing or splitting the bracelet.

How much easier would it be with unhindered access to the case back.

Looks so awkward!! Split the bracelet, and put it on a cloth or some such on a table.

When you reassemble, makes sure you put in the spring that sticks of the back. It needs to touch the caseback for the sound to work.
