That's why exclusion is at least as important as trying. You could have narrowed it down with one or two smart guesses:
SHREW for Sound, Hound, Round and Wound
if none of those hits, continue with BLIMP for Bound, Mound and Pound
and if that isn't delivering, it is Found.
Guaranteed result in 4 or 5

Since it won't actually let you type a seventh word, it couldn't have been worse! Not even sure I would have typed FOUND (which was the solution) next.
Raffe's point about taking a more logical approach is well made, but I'm an optimist.

Really weird one for me today. It took me over an hour to think of a viable third word and I was amazed that it accepted my third attempt as a legitimate word. If it is, I've never heard of it! But after that the solution came quickly.
