Sending a watch to the United States

Apologies if this was covered recently but I could only find an older thread. I want to send a watch to the US, worth around £450. Royal Mail only provide coverage up to £250. Am I better going with UPS or similar, or can I get separate insurance and use Royal Mail.

I sent one to the USA last year, valued at a bit over £2,000. Royal Mail did the postage , but don't insure watches fo I used Secursus for the insurance. The watch was delivered sucessfully so I can't say whether Secursus are good when things go wrong, but, they seem to enjoy a decent reputation. Just make sure you follow their requirements re packaging, etc.

Thank you. Securus was the name of the insurer I was looking for.

I've always received Timefactors' watches via UPS here in NYC - never had a delivery go missing so I've not had any experience with insurance claims.
