R.I.P.
A true sporting legend.
Too young, too soon, but a classic for all time and all rugby nations. Already sadly missed.
One from the legendary Welsh team of the late seventies, with G Edwards and JPR Williams, that us junior* players looked up to.
RIP
(*I believe the age group is now called U19)
'Against stupidity, the gods themselves struggle in vain' - Schiller.
He was from before my time, but I grew up on watching his tries against NZ, on the lions etc.
He had a step that could turn the whole ground the wrong way and a wonderful graceful, almost effortless running style.
The guy was a sporting legend and that comes from an English man - who can forget his rousing speech before the England game?
RIP.
RIP Phil Bennett a great rugby player and lovely fella I had the pleasure of meeting a few times. I never tired of his story about the Northern Scouts coming calling with a suitcase full of cash.
Great rugby player and also a great ambassador for the game!
RIP Benny you will be sadly missed by all involved not just in rugby but sport in general.
Sospan fach! 🏉🏉
