hoegaarden ...cold :P
Hi!
I found a couple of these bottles way back in the fridge today!
I am a beer fan and drink most sorts gladly, have been especially in to Belgian Trappist beers but also enjoy light babies like Corona... But these Innis & Gunn are something special. Aged in oak barrels for a while and get a subtle flavour from that. Almost smokey.
It's hard pressed to call it my favourite since there are so many sorts, but there is something special about it.
What do you guys recommend?
/john
hoegaarden ...cold :P
Youngs Special-warm
guiness foreign extra
Smithwicks
At home, I'd normally drink Tyskie, Zywiec, something like that.
Tegernseer Helles.
Adam's Ale.
There are so many beers, but only a few days per week to taste them .. thus, too many to have a favourite! Just love beer ..
/vince ..
Don't drink much at all these days but I have very fond memories of Aventinus (I believe they sell it in Sainsburys in the Uk) and Franziskaner for Hefeweizen :drunken:
I&G is a little special yes. The hint of whiskey makes for a nice novelty but one a night of them is quite enough for me.
British beers, I keep going back to ESB for an any occasion performer but IPAs like Twisted Thistle are close to my heart also.
From local (Finnish) beers.. Kukko, Kuohu, Koff Porter.
I have several favourites - Gales HSB, Theakstons Old Pecular, Old Speckled Hen, Bishops Finger, Leffe Brune (or Blonde), 6X, Pichfork, Cobra

Wanted - Damasko DC57
Black as yer 'AT from Glastonbury Ales in Somerset

For me, there are still too many beers left for me to try to have a favourite.
If I had to choose one from those I have tried though it would have to be Timothy Taylor's Landlord. :D

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
favourites by category would be
stout: Guinness (of course)
lager: Warsteiner (the germans know their stuff)
weissbeer: Wiehenstephaner (nowt like it on a hot day)
ale: Don't drink the stuff normally, only one I fancied a bit was the Innis & Gunn Rum Cask... sadly OOP. The regular I&G tastes like pi$$
LOL !! No, this one !! From Singapore to Aberdeen !! :lol:Originally Posted by Griswold

Is it just around my gaff, or is Stella nicknamed "wife beater" anywhere else ??? :D
Guiness, Cobra and Marston's Strong are my favourites.
I'm not a fan of Stella Artois, seems too gassy.
Known as that around here to :DOriginally Posted by GraniteQuarry
Smithwicks is good, especially if you are in Kilkenny.
Alwas preferred Murphy's to Guinness, think it much smoother, to me Guinness has a bitter edge, and again the closer to the brewery the better the pint.
Warsteinner i like, Becks i like.
Those would be the choices but failings these anything so long as its wet :D :D
Nev.
Black Sheep
Theakstones Old Peculiar
Sam Smith's Bitter
Batemans Victory ale,

Fuller's 1845 celebration ale. Quite strong, so chilled in the fridge is best. Even got the nod of approval from my (native of Munich) Father-in-law, so it must be doing something right!

P.S. Stella now do a 4% 'lighter' lager which immediately became known as 'child beater'
Yes wife beater even my GFs Dad has started asking me if I want a wife beater!
Number 1 - The belgian nectar....Stella, of course
Followed by.....
Lowenbrau,
Tennents Extra (we used to call this wife beater as well - gives you a bastard of an headache!)
Holsten Pils (purely medicinal - diabetic!)
Carlsberg super (but not too many and must be absolutely freeeeezing cold)
Carling Premier
Draft Summer Lightning is a very fine pint.
None of you Scottish lads into Tenents Super?
Agree that 1 or 2 of the Innis and Gunn stuff is enough, its a special treat.
Other personal favourites;
Artois Bock,
Leffe Brune,
Eiken Artois,
My current tipple is Hoegaarden - lovely
My favorite beers are rated on ratebeer.com, where I post as...Nalu :D
Never let it be said I missed an opportunity to post a watch photo:
American-style Pale Ale, Potters Brewery, NSW.
Snake Dog IPA
Arrogant Bastard Ale, Stone BC, San Diego
Same here... ever since a visit to Spa (Belgium) a few months ago it's my main choice of beer when available... really nice smooth and unique flavour :DOriginally Posted by sparkind

Black Sheep
Most of the Ossett Brewery beers
Tim Taylors bitter
Marstons Pedigree
most cask beers from small breweries.
Another vote for Hop Back Summer Lightning here, and of course Exmoor Gold.
Pete
I prefer to drink wine rather than beer, but when I drink beer Guinness is my fave.
