I would buy the seller first and foremost.

Got my eye on a vintage day date from a seller in Hatton garden (this is their IG https://instagram.com/brothersandbez...d=YmMyMTA2M2Y=) but since all of my purchases so far have been new watches, no idea what I need to watch out for. Any tips would be helpful.

I'd say that the rents in Hatton Garden alone absolutely ensure that the same watch will cost a damned sight less elsewhere - like the Burlington Arcade, a good place to browse but intrinsically overpriced.
Sounds obvious but condition isn't something you've had to consider and a big thing with vintage or second hand watches.
Aesthetically on a vintage day date aside from dial condition and presence of all luminous material you want to look for thick lugs and the fluted bezel should be razor sharp on each 'peak'
This is the picture of the watch on their Instagram. 36mm felt really underwhelming when I tried it on vs my daily which is an overseas and also was surprisingly light for a gold watch, most probably due to it being on leather rather than bracelet. The bezel was also far from sharp but i guess kind of expected with a watch from 1986

I’ve purchased a watch from Brothers and Bezels, very nice guys
It was a 114060 and was exactly as described. Would recommend them
