    Views on JLC Polaris

Hi, I just tried one of these on, the time only version. Fitted great and the blue dial is amazing. Does anyone have one and can offer a view?

JLC - the watchmaker’s watchmaker. Very underrated. I have a lot of time for them.

Beautiful watches across several ranges. The Master Ultra Thin caught my eye today too.

I own the blue dial Polaris and I love it. It wears really well on the bracelet. I’ve been meaning to order a rubber strap for it too for some variety, which needs to be OEM to suit the watch head curved gap.
It’s a cracking all round watch that rarely leaves my wrist and I now have a Rolex 34mm Airking and a Speedmaster that don’t get worn anywhere near as much as they used to!
I would thoroughly recommend. It’s a watch that doesn’t get enough airtime in my view.
Let me know if you have any specific questions though OP.

Thanks the others getting relegated says it all! This is one of those where the photos don’t even begin to do it justice. My only niggles are about the movement (there is another version with a longer power reserve I understand, but a larger case), and whether another JLC should be considered from the Master range. Where did you get yours from?

I had the heritage version with the date. Lovely finishing but what I disliked was how easy it was to rotate the crown that turns the inner bezel which made that inner bezel pretty much useless

I boughtthe blue dial bracelet version and agree with all the comments - it is a loverly watch and looks really special on the wrist, but the lack of a lock on the bezel (also bi directional) annoys me a bit inside (although of course no-one else would every notice or care).

I love their gradient dials, particularly the olive, but in solid colours I find them a bit pedestrian. Gradient olive or blue though are gorgeous.
Not sure that JLC can be considered the watchmakers watchmaker anymore now they're owned by Richemont.

Does feel strange that it doesn’t lock

I bought mine from watches world. A great discount at the time. About 18 months ago I think. Would recommend them. You just have to wait about 6 weeks though!

The other comments about the bezel are correct. It’s odd that it doesn’t lock but I’ve got past it now. It doesn’t move all the time and only slightly when it does. It doesn’t bother me.

I also considered the larger model with a date but I was concerned that it would be too large. The longer movement duration doesn’t bother me as it’s usually on my wrist!

Watches World, yes I’ve bought from them before and it’s been a positive experience. They seemed to be able to get things on order even if not immediately available.

42 is doable, and with the inner bezel same as my IWC 3538 should be ok. Hmmm…

I don’t know about the 42mm but on the 41mm the lugs were quite short so didn’t wear too big although looks large as no external bezel.

That is the one that caught my eye but decided to get something a bit different in the stainless/blue as I have a few similar watches

There is a green boutique version with date, I imagine that is stunning.

I was always torn between the benefit of having a date on the larger model and not on the smaller, but ultimately I wanted to avoid it wearing too large.
If JLC could give me a call I’ll let them know the perfect combo for me!

You could look at that all day.

It’s like a log fire you can just stare and stare.

Hope it’s as nice in real life though

It is as nice - saw one in a Bangkok JLC AD (Siam Paragon Branch). Super beautiful but the Thai price is around £9k vs £8k or so in the UK
