    Can't view TV HD Channels

Just wondering if there are any TV gurus who could help please. I've got a Sony XF9005 and find I've lost all my HD channels. I've tried an auto retune and also a reboot of the TV but with no luck.

Ive checked the Freeview website and it shows no issues with the Talconeston transmitter so suggestions for next steps please

If your coax runs through an intermediate device like a Humax (remember those?) then make sure that still has power or is bypassed.

Possibly a problem at the transmitter- seems to be a few reports of signal problems over the last few days.

As replied elsewhere it looks as if you have lost the highest frequency Mux (BBC B) on channel 46 which happens to be the one with all the HD channels. It's possibly a cable issue or a faulty joint - it's recently started raining more frequently.

We had this exact same issue and cause. Perforated cable allowed water to ingress, slowly corroding the inner core. Was a slow process but ultimately prevented us getting any HD channels over Freeview.

As we're in the process of renovating our house I mounted a new Ariel in the loft and internally ran a new cable to a booster unit. Now distributed to all rooms over cat 6 but that's a whole different matter.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like a cable issue. I'll get an aerial company in to take a look. Wanted to check it wasn't me not doing something obvious first !!

Purely out of interest, did the old one 'die', or are they required to be upgraded as technology moves on?

I don't have an external aerial, so entirely theory for me.

My Mother has never been able to get HD on her new TV with an indoor signal booster. Thought perhaps the frequency range wasn't large enough for all the channels.

That the OP's has suddenly stopped working though suggests that his has just died.
