The 959 is my favourite Panerai 42mm submersible. I had one pre-pandemic that I sold and was happy to see one pre-loved.

Only made two purchases in 2022 as keeping money back for the prices to collapse to rock-bottom as the global recession really kicks-in and we see distress sales of PP, VC, AP to cover margin calls.

    Black Bay Bronze Bucherer 43mm

Laco Fliegeruhr 42mm to complement my Fortis Flieger B-Uhr - swapped on black Laco straps to both.

This for me, aside from the fact it needs all new PVD NATO straps, of which there are not that many premium ones….I still love it.

Was hard to beat the 2 DA36/7 damaskos but his nailed it.

Just the one(!) acquisition this year, but a good one!

  15. #115
Hard choice for me but at a push I think I’d go with this one.

Early gift for my 50th next year. Incredible wrist presence and movement complication, and I love a two-tone watch!

You would think anyone who had obtained a Heuer 1550SG in 2022 would state that as their favourite acquisition of the year, but I can't help thinking the titanium Helm Vanuatu pips it, at least in the wearability stakes.

Either way, it wasn't a bad year.

Bought and sold too many this year.
Had opportunity to try both Cartier and IWC.
    Both cracking watches.
But my favourite has to be this one.

Only bought two this year, FXD and PAM 117, and it is a close call. The FXD Is by far the more worn, holidays, watersports with the kids etc, but the 177 wins the contest.

My only purchase this year except for an Apple Watch. Even if I’d bought 10 this year I’d probably still pick the Pelagos… My first Erikas strap too.

One of many purchased this year and the one I'm wearing right now so it wins!

Many thanks. This is a JDM model - GCAX041 - with the 8J movement. I know of one other example in the UK.

Having said that, Seiko U.K. fully supports the watch, including g the returning shipping to Japan for service.

Definitely the highlight has been the acquisition of Blueboy1's 1970 Ollech & Wajs Caribbean 1000. I absolutely love it.

Now that was a worthwhile Google! Gorgeous watch.

Got to be my CWC. I know it’s not historically correct being an auto plus date but it has made me appreciate that I can enjoy a basic (and relatively cheap) utilitarian watch just as much as my slightly blingy offerings.

Room in my collection for both types but I’m reaching for this and my newly acquired Hamilton Khaki Field Auto far more than anything else at the minute, funny old hobby.
