The 959 is my favourite Panerai 42mm submersible. I had one pre-pandemic that I sold and was happy to see one pre-loved.

2022 was a very quiet one for me bar 1 monumental incoming. A watch i had been lusting and waiting for over 4 years. The FP Journe Chronometre Optimum Black Label.

Actually on reflection it has to be this.

My only purchase in 2022 (and my first TZ f2f!). Titanium 2231.50
Only made two purchases in 2022 as keeping money back for the prices to collapse to rock-bottom as the global recession really kicks-in and we see distress sales of PP, VC, AP to cover margin calls.
Black Bay Bronze Bucherer 43mm
Laco Fliegeruhr 42mm to complement my Fortis Flieger B-Uhr - swapped on black Laco straps to both.

This for me, aside from the fact it needs all new PVD NATO straps, of which there are not that many premium ones….I still love it.
Was hard to beat the 2 DA36/7 damaskos but his nailed it.

Haveston also have a a limited range with black PVD hardware.
Here’s one on my B-42 LE.

Just the one(!) acquisition this year, but a good one!
Hard choice for me but at a push I think I’d go with this one.

Definitely this

You would think anyone who had obtained a Heuer 1550SG in 2022 would state that as their favourite acquisition of the year, but I can't help thinking the titanium Helm Vanuatu pips it, at least in the wearability stakes.
Either way, it wasn't a bad year.

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
Bought and sold too many this year.
Had opportunity to try both Cartier and IWC.
Both cracking watches.
But my favourite has to be this one.

Only bought two this year, FXD and PAM 117, and it is a close call. The FXD Is by far the more worn, holidays, watersports with the kids etc, but the 177 wins the contest.

I think it was discontinued then brought back and the page has a few broken links but it's here

Only a couple of new ones this year. But this O&J has really caught my imagination...
Three purchases this year for me. Explorer 1, BB58 and Submariner
This is my favourite
Might well be a little less next year

My only purchase this year except for an Apple Watch. Even if I’d bought 10 this year I’d probably still pick the Pelagos… My first Erikas strap too.
Very quite year for me only bought one from a wtb sub 41mm
Must admit i find it much better than the 14060m
Its a lovely watch to wear

This one.
After 72hours on my wrist, + 3 sec in total.
This beauty. Might well challenge the SBGX209 as the most perfect HAQ in existence:)
One of many purchased this year and the one I'm wearing right now so it wins!

This one for me
Been on my wrist for over a week now!!
I’m a failure!
Didn’t buy a single watch!
Definitely the highlight has been the acquisition of Blueboy1's 1970 Ollech & Wajs Caribbean 1000. I absolutely love it.
Got to be my CWC. I know it’s not historically correct being an auto plus date but it has made me appreciate that I can enjoy a basic (and relatively cheap) utilitarian watch just as much as my slightly blingy offerings.
Room in my collection for both types but I’m reaching for this and my newly acquired Hamilton Khaki Field Auto far more than anything else at the minute, funny old hobby.
