Thread: Paris CDG Airport

    Paris CDG Airport

I am flying from Miami to Paris on Air France and then have a good few hours wait for connecting flight

Not long enough to go into Paris, but long enough I’d benefit from an Exec lounge.

I’m not a member of Priority Pass but could join. Not sure what terminal I will land in or be switched to (flight is on to Manchester)

Anyone know the best lounge to head for and the best way of getting a deal - I am not a frequent flyer so unlikely to use it again with it next few months.

It’s a big airport and it took us one and a half hours to get from the terminal we landed at to the one we took off from.

    Paris CDG Airport

A quick Google tells me you can buy access with Air France. They charge €75 Euros.

    Thanks - saw that
Have also found there is a hotel in the airport. Day rate about 90 dollars so for 7 hour wait that might be better option

Certainly easier to get showered up, just not the free eats/drinks.

Of all the airports I have used WW I disliked CDG the most by a long way.

I've found it to be pretty good, but Frankfurt....................... I avoid at all costs now.

I'm with you on this. For an international hub CDG has got to one of the worst there is. Weirdly I think frankfurt is a lot better as is skipol, I found the lounges better in these as well.

As part of an American Express promotion a few months ago I was given a priority pass with two ‘free’ trips to any lounge world wide. Heathrow was poor and Vienna was excellent in comparison.

Agree - if your change in CDG is less than 2 hrs, is guaranteed your luggage will be delayed. Plus the drivers of the terminal transfer buses are obnoxious.

Ditto, many a depressing time spent here on business waiting.

Watching mice run around the floor of food areas put me off any thought of eating or drinking.

Worst major airport I have ever been in - OP try not to look at the floors, or stay too long!

There is a world of difference between Terminal 1 and 2 (I won’t even mention T3 as it’s for the cattle carriers. T1 is 40 tears old. I believe it was just modernised and haven’t visited it, but at least until this recent refurbishment T2 was vastly superior, even though it has been extended beyond what is convenient for a (walking) passenger.

Last went through cdg in 2019, long haul with airfrance/klm. Really liked the lounge. Nice private areas to relax and decent food, think they had showers but didn’t use them.
