I'm also enjoying this. Laura Haddock has, er, grown up a bit.

Finished Alice in Borderland and thought it was absolutely brilliant.
Same for White Lotus 2 (altho I preferred 1 I think)

Not watching anything new as discovered the Veep box set on NowTV so am re-watching that for the nostalgia, but have my eye on "The Staircase" for next series to get into.

I knew she looked familiar in Episode 1 but couldn't quite place her - you've saved me looking up the cast. Thanks.

Not watched Alice in Borderland yet but a few people have recommended it to me so looking forward to starting it. Half way through The Bear, excellent so far.

Started this (only got ten mins in) and wondered if I should watch in a random order, or follow as presented?

    Emily in Paris

Total Netflix fluff ! , But strangely watchable and Lily Collins is very good
The cinematography of Paris though is stunning and really stands out

I know the thread says NEW, but the ‘79 Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy is on BBCFour, and iPlayer, currently. It seems strangely more relevant than ever.

Seen it before but watching Banshee at the moment. Just superb, not ever so family friendly but definitely one of my favourites.

    Likewise.

Although didn’t make it through episode 1 as found it a bit dull. Perhaps I wasn’t in the correct frame of mind.

Yeah, randomly as they come up and it still works really well.

    The order we have so far is;

Black - just 1 minute long

    Yellow

    Green

    Blue

    Orange

    Violet

9 in total……so Red, Pink and White to go…..

Really enjoyed the second series, it has been tied up really well and doesn’t need another series, they of course left the door ever so slightly ajar it’s almost shut!

Seeing what ‘The Rig’ on prime is like seeing as it’s the industry I work in, not too bad but I’m laughing when they are walking around on the Rig without safety glasses, big no no in our industry.

Just white left to watch, which is the heist. Maybe this will complete the gaps?

Odd for sure watching like that, but I think I liked it.

I persisted and, to be honest, probably not.

What is worth watching is the “Making of …” documentary. Amazing technology.

    I know what you mean.

Food 'factory' ones annoy the hell out of me with the mistakes and dumbing down.

Watching a variety of investment banking and naval films with professionals in those industries at the time of 'filming' has led to a very poor view on accuracy.

Part of me loves it though!

I’ll wait a few episodes before giving it a try - Hope it’s accurate, with lots of Middlesbrough scaffolders with Turkey teeth and protein shakers…………………

A general request: When someone recommends a series - mention which streaming platform it is on?

We are rewatching Gavin and Stacey. Saw season 1 episode one today, classic tv, brilliant.

  30. #4430
Started watching Mayor of Kingstown (available on several platforms) starring Jeremy Renner. 4 episodes in it's becoming a really good story well written and acted It's also a bit quirky fro the usual cop/prison/drug dealer drama

    I'd recommend it

another vote for Tulsa king - not bad at all though i think stallone has had so much botox done that it seems only his lips move these days and he has no other facial expressions in his repertoire.

Apparently, irrespective of how you watch it, the White episode is always last where we all see the heist and what actually happens and that then completes the various story arcs.

Very enjoyable bit of TV and superb production values too.

Thanks for the reply (which I have only just seen).
I also persisted and would agree. Probably one to avoid. I felt it was like a 'pound shop, own brand version of The Matrix', but on a boat.

Just finished watching 1883 (prequel to Yellowstone)and thought it was superb. Also another vote for Tulsa King watched the latest episode this morning, cannot wait for more

The Mayfair Hotel Megabuild on BBC2 - 2nd episode tonight.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001gqnm

Pushing the limits of civil engineering building the largest basement in the UK, whilst keeping the hotel working so most of the digging had to be by hand.

    I thought so, too.

A while back I watched the first three seasons of Animal Kingdom on Amazon Prime. I really enjoyed it despite nearly not making it through the first episode - the crime family characters are not a pleasant bunch! I was delighted to see the remaining three seasons are now available and are just as gripping.

Happy Valley……. Last series on Beeb. Sarah Lancashire is a tour de force 2 episodes in already

kaleidoscope on netflix is worth a watch. The first episode is not the best but it does get better. Wont say any spoilers but it did not end as I would have thought.

Im currently watching the rig on prime.
It's decent but very odd to see Emily Hampshire not being Stevie from schitts creek.

One of the better things I saw last year, great insight and really interesting. Also really good cast. Gave me a better appreciation of the Godfather (which I immediately re watched!)

I'm quite enjoying that one as well. It's technically quite fascinating and they've obviously been successful in picking out some interesting characters. It's also quite interesting to work out if anybody who works there isn't Irish. If I remember correctly it's not the first BBC Claridges documentary and the previous one was equally charming.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Thanks Tiny73, I finished watching the series tonight and when the Mrs asked me what it was I couldn’t string together the thrust of the series.
Lots of bits I don’t understand. Such as why were those 2 characters trying to kill each other at the end.
And what was the stuff about the bears and the matriarch of the series about.
    So many things unexplained.
It reminded me of a cowboy Twin Peaks
