Downsizing from SLA021J to SKX009J unfortunately with poor calibre 7S26 behaviour. Need to replace it probably.

Been pondering this model for a while, and it's finally here ... Ulysse Nardin Marine Torpilleur Military ... can't get it to photograph the way it wears ... the delicate, eggshell-colour dial is really quite special, the blasted, almost hammer-finished case likewise, UN in-house movement, tons of wrist presence but with the ease of a daily wearer (no need to dress up for it). Quite smitten. I can see this getting a lot of wrist time. Wears like a proper 43mm (my 43mm club is the last photo).
OEM strap is, as anticipated, too short (UN seem to specialise in selling large-diameter watches to people with small wrists - I've never yet tried one at an AD on where the strap fitted) but looks pretty decent on a 21mm Eberhard strap I had in the box from years ago. Need to get something made for it I think.
Already posted a pic of this on the Sinn thread but this is just an excuse to post a couple more pics here. I’ve had this watch before but it’s great to have it back.

I received this lovely PAM88 yesterday: now for the inevitable jump down the strap rabbit hole!
What do you think?
Best,
Simon
My Pam 562,arrived from alanski following my wtb.
I got this Seiko last week and I’m really enjoying it.
The indeces are very slightly raised (the thickness of a few layers of paint, and rounded rather than flat, if a long way short of the proverbial Panerai sausage).
However the effect looking at the dial on the wrist makes the height of this seem higher than it is - there's a nice contrast in finish between the flat eggshell dial, the glossy, slightly raised numbers (giving a greater colour contrast than appears in photos), and the black number outlines, that make it all seem more 3D than it actually is. Its lovely.
I just had another go at trying to photograph with no joy, maybe with a better camera, but there's a limit to what you can do with an iPhone 8!
Also saw the nice comments from Marios, Paul and David, thanks guys.
Doxa sub 300 - very cool

It’s a great watch and over the last 3 days of pretty continuous wear (crown down overnight) it’s averaged +1.5spd. Not bad at all! My last Seiko watch had a 6R35 and it also kept within COSC so either I’ve been very fortunate or these movements aren’t as bad as the internet would have us believe :-).
Third incoming of the year
Some lovely new arrivals - UN Marine Torpilleur, Habring Chrono, King Seiko, nice work chaps
I bought this here a couple of weeks ago. Total swerve ball for me with slim wrists. Just fancied something different. It hasn’t leafy my wrist since. That’s saying something as I normally change watches twice each day!

I wasn't planning on buying anything for a while, but kept getting drawn to this after seeing it a few weeks ago…
It's hard to photograph with the huge dome throwing reflections everywhere:
Worn it for three days straight and loving it.
I love the massive dome, I love the litmus paper feature, I love the 16mm blue strap, I love the push and turn bezel, I love the slow beat movement, I love the blasted case, the lug holes, the hands… everything
I've ordered a navy cork strap and a black NATO to test out. Just wish I'd nabbed that one on SC earlier.
Wasn’t really looking to get anything new this year as have mainly been wearing the Apple Watch, but popped into the Swatch store in Venice and quite liked the Saturn
First Christopher Ward. Strap isn't for me but initial impression is seriously good watch for the money.
Very chuffed to have received the following from Walter this morning. Couldn't be happier although how is it that I always seem to collect watches that are so hard to capture in photos or, is it just that I really am that poor at taking them?
At most angles it seems to look all black....
Y'know, I really don't think this needs the qualifying 'for the money' - that is a straightforwardly very well-designed and executed watch, and I say that as someone who really isn't into black watches.
For once I think this has a design-language that CW really should stick with; it's one thing the brand lacks: a look that is lastingly, recognisably CW.
Enjoy!
This just landed after wanting to try a JLC for years. I've always liked the Compressor line but I think they nailed the aesthetics with the GMT. It has a clever jumping hour hand movement that in addition to the small GMT dial, also leaves an hour hand behind for the home time when you jump the main hour forward or back.
I do think it's a great package, it's a 2009 but came freshly serviced from JLC and with both a rubber strap with tang and a leather with deployment, all for less than half the price of a new GMT Master II.
That JLC is great.
New arrival for me - taken in trade, and I'm not sure whether it'll stick, but it feels a step up from the usual £3-400 Seiko quality.
So much for the New Year’s resolution, three weeks in, three new watches and just missed a call from the AD.
Lovely Joe, a 99.4, did you buy this new as they are pretty rare and yours may be the only one on TZ?
I've fancied a camo G Shock for quite some time. Eagle-eyed readers will perhaps have noticed that that's not exactly what this is. Thoroughly serviceable digital watch for £11.99 inc delivery though. Marketed on Amazon as "ROSEBEAR" for some reason, and the pics there don't have any branding. But it's a SKMEI.
Some of the other colour variations are even cheaper.
Despite my poor photography, the LCD display has decent contrast and the seven-segement display numbers are neat and crisp.
[QUOTE=Topcat30093;6141469]Impressed by the number of steps done.
Was that in one day?
Thank you! All in one day. That was a pretty average day. I just love walking and that’s always been the case with me. Having the Union Canal on my doorstep certainly helps. I also get the opportunity to cover a lot of ground at work each day. And I don’t have a car😉
