I really like those 1970s(?) block-like cases...the JLC caught my eye immediately. Really nice.

    Oh my, those 70’s JLC’s.

I’d love to buy a Jaeger but nothing in their current range does it for me.

The price isn’t too bad, all things considered. Presumably it’s made in China somewhere, given no claims to the contrary. Looks good too, though the predecessor without the dive company logo looks better to me.

Also, like that predecessor, is it 300m or 666ft? It's Synchron USA so maybe they are having problems with the metric system. And the new movement has a decent power reserve, but then it should have, apparently beating at a leisurely 24bph…

Nice watch, but hope they take more care over its creation than the website.

That’s rather nice, my Synchron Military is one of favourite most worn watches. The build quality and looks are great. The movement modification on this one are interesting. Not sure there is space for both in my collection but if I didn’t have the Military I would be very tempted.

Those JLC also look lovely, JLC do a reissue rather well.

Perhaps due to not knowing the military history, to me they have a touch of Thunderbirds about them… F.A.B.!

Not something I'd wear, but loving this bold new effort from Seiko -

Certain to be an opinion divider, but I love it, and as someone who moans that Seiko can be boring and predictable, I did not see that coming!

I'd never heard of the Scottish brand Struthers but they've just released the 'Kingsley' and, my word, it's a thing to make you drool.
I'm not normally a dress watch type but I'd have this in a hearbeat.

    Typical.

Although the Meraud could scratch my vintage itch. Looks decent value.

Yeah - agreed in some ways though only precious metal and when you see the details (you get to help design your version with the watchmakers) you're getting a 1 of 1, effectively, and the quality *looks* superb. I'd be VERY keen if I was in a money-no-object situation. Alas I'm not and never will be!

TAG Heuer very rarely attract my attention, but this latest black-dialled Autavia variant is a doozy -

Solid, applied indices, 80 hour power reserve, COSC cert, excellent legibility, bidirectional ceramic bezel - ticks a lot of boxes for me.

Two things don't: should have been Heuer branded, not TAG Heuer, and the £6,500 price! Oof!

If I ever had that kind of money to spend I think I'd still rather get seven differently specced Dornblüths instead, one for each day of the week.

Blancpain has recently announced Act lll for the Fifty Fathoms anniversary. A limited edition of 555 pieces in 9ct Gold/Bronze 41.3mm with 100hr power reserve from the 1154 P2 movement. I'm sure they will sell but I think this has been such a wasted opportunity by Blancpain, yet again. In steel and a non limited edition and they could have been on to a winner.

You’ve got to admire Blancpain’s absolute pigheaded stubbornness. The loud and clear desire of potential customers, for a 42mm steel non limited edition FF, repeatedly ignored. It’s as if they don’t want to make money. Which is strange given Swatch groups recent bid to boost their profile.

While I’m at it, I think they should also bring back the Leman range.

Yep, not sure of the UK RRP but looks like $32k so around £30k on a Nato and what looks like fairly minimal finishing on the movement compared to the standard 45mm.

Nice enough, but £1,500 seems like a ripoff to me.
