No mention of the world record for a teenager fee that Everton received either.

Rooney was genuinely amazing between 15-20.

He was head and shoulders above anything I’ve ever seen at that age. Miles ahead of Messi and Ronaldo at the same stage.

I don’t think he gets enough credit for how good he was.

I think that's applicable to his whole career actually. He was a fantastic footballer.

he really was, i think his look and his build probably went against him in how he was viewed, and ultimately he either didnt, or couldnt take care of himself in the same way as CR7 did for example, but still a brilliant footballer who had a great career.

    Works both ways

The word 'take' does not give the impression of giving willingly, rather the opposite

I agree on Rooney. For some reason outside his primary role he wasn’t as marketable as his peers. On the pitch where if matters he’s one of the best of his generation

Totally agree - Rooney was a hell of a player, the best of his generation - ability coupled with attitude and ill add he spent many years sacrificing himself on the wing for the good of the team under the ronaldo era, had his best goal returns playing as a lone striker for united and was unplayable for large parts of that era (the fact he wanted to be involved more which was probably to his detriment) a fantastic team player, beat sir Bobbys record and the England record (which kane will blow away) and always came across as liked by his peers (Gazza esque)

Ive always felt he didnt/doesnt get the respect warranted but put that down to being a united player

    HATED, ADORED, NEVER IGNORED

I guess he had no chance being fully marketable like the other greats with the press reporting on his hooker / drinking scandals and the pretty mean fan comparisons to Shrek.

Fantastic footballer but re marketing, he wasn't a great speaker, was certainly not blessed with matinee idol looks - and that granny stuff.

I can’t work out wether Tottenham have been abysmal or Leicester exceptional.
    Could/should’ve been 6 or 7

Not looking for smart replies etc, but WTF is going on with Spurs?

Can beat Man City but bend over to Leicester.

I've played team sports for many years. Sometimes we are good, sometimes shit but have never gone from 10 to 1 in a week!

    WTF is going on?

Spurs very often a bogey team for Man City.

Conte and his stubborn insistence that we play in a formation for which we don’t have the personnel. There’s more, but that’s it in a nutshell (other than the fact that we need two new CBs).

Bad day all round for referees and VAR, Palace v Brighton (offside goal), Southampton v Wolves (Lemina sending off).

West Ham had a good draw with a rampant Chelsea team.

Joao Felix certainly catches the eye.

Bentancur out for 6-8 months. That’s a massive blow, which means Sarr and Harvey White are really going to have to step up now.

Proper smash and grab at Elland road for us today!!

A real miss match of players
    2 new cb
    2 new cm
    Relatively new striker

Sancho Dalot and malacia not had much game time so no surprise how disjointed we were but a win is a win

    Rashford on fire !!!

I enjoyed that, end to end, a bit of rough and tumble, a good Leeds vs. Man United tussle. Defence was shaky, Maguire is slow. Not sure why Leeds are so far down the table.

Bernardo will run and run and run all over the pitch for you. He’s wasted this season in that role. Preferred it when he was more David Silva like and scoring the odd sensational goal.

Would have been my MOTM today save for Rodri.

It's funny how so many teams manage to play out of their skins when they play United.

Everton’s squad is just shit, it doesn’t matter who manages them.

Liverpool still not great but a few bright moments. The young kid bajectic looks a player and Nunez is a real handful.

when I saw the everton starting xi I thought if we can’t beat this lot we can forget about it. It was relatively comfortable for Liverpool who looked a bit better and I agree Bajcetic looks very assured so far.

Was a good result but let's keep perspective on it, it was only Everton.
