    Timex taking the p...

Now I'm usually a big fan of Timex, cheap, fun, and usually cool designs (even if like most everyone else they often take a few styling ideas off others).
But this is a blatant Casioak rip off, with half the water resistance and costs about £30 more. Timex, really?

That’s such an obvious design rip-off it’s embarrassing! If it’s anything like the other Timex watches I own/have owned, it’ll feel a quarter of the quality of a Casio too!

That must be under licence, surely?

You'd think so, but who knows?
Off the top of my head there is no other watch in their line up with a mechanical day indicator, analogue hands, and a digital display. Certainly not in that configuration. So developing a whole new movement with the risk of Casio coming down on them would seem like a stupid risk for a company like Timex. Chinese Aliexpress companies yes, but not an international household name business.

Indeed, except its crazily more expensive than the watch it is ripping off.

The only problem I have is with the price. Cannot imagine how they justify making it substantially more expensive than the Casioak. If it was £60 or so, that would make more sense. Especially with SHOCK printed on the bezel, Casio style.

Doesn't surprise me. A tried and tested business model from San Martin.

    Seconded.
    Every watch a story.
