The different Seiko reinterpretations of the 6105 8110

    Morning all,
I have an original birth year one of these, but because of its sentimental value/age I'm very careful with it.
I was looking at getting one of the modern reissues and wondered if anyone who had one wouldn't mind sharing their thoughts on them to help me choose which one to go for please.
    Thanks in advance
    Rich
Ps - feel free to add shots of them on too please

If your budget allows then absolutely the SLA033 is the best.

I have the spb237. To me it looks most like a faded aged original out of the available reissues.

Funny, I am in the opposite situation to you. I have the SLA033J1 which is my favourite reissue of the 6105 imho. I’ve had the SPB version and it just seemed like a cross between a turtle and a 6105 which although was very nice didn’t fill the gap. I’m looking for a 6105 that doesn’t look like it’s been used on a building site or has been rebuilt from fake bits. In answer to your question it’s the SLA033 all the way.

Of the ones I have looked at that are readily available this was looking to be the favourite. My only concern was the difference in size

It is a little smaller than the original, but still quite a chunk. The short lug to lug measurement makes it great for a thin flat wrist like mine. The supplied natos are superb also.

Looks beautiful, and the original size too, which may be why it's the most original reinterpretation

This is my original. Bought from a guy who had been in the merchant navy and had bought it new when in Shanghai in the early 70's. The watch dates to 72 but he thinks he got in in 73/74.

    My August 1972 6105-8110.
Had a few of the re-issues but the original beats them.....imo.

Agree completely, but the OP already has one and that's not what he's asking.

I decided on the end to go with the SPB237. I've had it about a month and it's getting loads of wrist time. I love my original but am just cautious with when I wear it. I also figured that if I got on with the SPB237 I could go for an SLA033 later, and test out a modern equivalent at a lower price. I've popped in on a nato and I love it. The textured dial and aged bezel numbers give it an older feel without being over the top or shouting about the fact. My favourite thing may be the lume though, and mainly because the hands and plots match perfectly colour and intensity wise.
I also briefly tried the updated SRP777 but the lume on the hands and dial didn't match, nice but no where near as pleasing to the eye as the SRP237.
Thanks to everyone for the input that helped me with my search.
