    1961 sub in antiques roadshow

On right now. Let’s see what they say

Was a full set 5512 in totally original condition. Valued at £20-£30k.
It was the original owner who still had it, paid around £32 for it!

As soon as I saw it I said "I bet that will be 30 grand" to Mrs S. Just how 'collectors' want them.

I under estimated it to SWMBO, it did look to be a complete collectors set.
I said £20k but would rather have the 7016 I am currently wearing if I am honest.

Just watched it, definitely service hands but still a beautiful piece. Love the 5512, the real Steve McQueen Rolex!

I’m just wondering… will the price difference be the same for “full set” modern watches bought today - in another sixty years time? I am guessing not, as I surmise sixty years ago watches were bought and worn and got lost etc compared to today where they often stay in a safe.

Full set safe queens were not a thing then so I'd guess no, the price difference won't be the same. Same with Lego, toy cars, action figures etc.
