There's no plug as the charger uses electromagnetic induction to charge the Li-ion batteries in the watch. The magnetic flow goes through the watch case. It's a nice technique, but I wonder what the magnetic field does to the quartz movement?
Does any forum member have personal experience with this watch?

Mark
I like it as a watch for 14 year olds. Can you see yourself wearing a watch with 'SPECIAL OPS' all over the dial?
Imagine a 'real' special ops running around recharging a watch that only runs for one month ... leave me out.
Seen it described as "The Devil Watch" on the RLT Forum.

Every watch a story.
I liked the built in LED light. Other than that it is most likely rubbish.
....and a touch expensive at $5 shy of $400.
I don't believe this watch will be issued. Certainly not with "SpecialOps".
No mil related personnel will buy the watch as it doesn't look very serious.
Sounds like the standard military-related bulls**t marketing pitch. Fair enough if you know what you are getting, but definitely not mil spec. :toothy5:
It might be useful, just in case you forget you are on a special op - just look at your watch and it reminds you. If Mark Wahlberg had worn one in the Bourne identity it would have saved at least 30 minute of film :shock:Originally Posted by abraxas

Hi all
Funnily enough, I am sat here reading (well looking at the pictures) in a Japanese watch mag from March 2003 and hey presto there is a picture of a Rexstar 'Missionmaster' with exactly the same features, functions and charging unit thingy.
Looks almost as silly as the Special Ops with the sameish price tag of Yen38000. For well off teenagers it seems!!!

It just isn't fair. When I was in, I had to supply my own watch. A timex, I believe. And this despite the fact that it was my job to keep watches.
Best wishes,
Bob
Googled your Rexstar Ewan - it does at least look slightly more suitable for covert missions. Made, or at least marketed, by Ricoh of camera fame?Originally Posted by ewan.w

At $400, it's better keep the money for one of the PRS or RLT models.
According to my research, special forces will tend to favor:
(1) Casio G-shocks (many functions, robust replaceable)
(2) robust divers
(3) tritium vial watches
No gadgets, definitely.

What about tactical Langes?

Still at the project stage, I'm afraid ... my finances for one of these watches is at the project stage, too, BTW ... :(Originally Posted by Ming Thein
