Wow I love that one second on the right in the second photo. It would really slide under the radar in a work situation.
Yes, it's been a long (15 years) journey to get to where I wanted. Having bought and sold over a thousand watches, I'm now in a place where I'm completely happy with my collection.
Have I achieved want I wanted? Yes.
Do I have the pieces I truly love wearing? Yes.
Am I happy every time I look at my wrist?! YES!
Watch buying for me was always a goal to find the pieces that really speak to me, and so I am very happy with the end result of that journey. It's a wonderful, interesting and in-depth hobby, that's not only helped me to find my perfect timepieces, but also brought me many like-minded friends and wonderful laughs along the way.
So without further ado, my SOTC photos for 2023...
"So where's the watch then?" I hear you ask.
Why, it's on my wrist silly!
Rob.

Powerful! And made me smile when the penny dropped. Hats off to you!
The second one from the left is my favourite. It's a little bit 'different'.
Lots of under the radar / stealth watches there.
You have reached nirvana, congratulations!
I’ve said this to you before - the Fortis is pure class. Enjoy your easier life
Thanks my friend. It's everything I've ever wanted all in one piece. Love it!
Great that you’ve found your one watch and a very nice one it is too. Good luck resisting the inevitable temptations that will come your way though. I reckon a self imposed complete ban on opening SC, EBay, C24, etc is the only way, but even then I know I would struggle and eventually the itch would need scratching!
Impressive turnaround! That said, don't bin the watch box just yet - and, before the next round, maybe pick up a matching replacement cushion (and source a 2nd watch box)?
[I'm just jealous, I have no willpower, and still regret the last watch I sold, which would now set me back another £7k... ]
Ha! Made me smile. Do love the Fortis - if they made that exact watch in hardened steel/ceramic/carbon - I too could contemplate the ultimate one-watch collection, flawless legibility in my book
Congratulations on getting down to one watch. But please remember that G-Shocks don't count, so a cheeky little GW-5000 wouldn't do any harm. ;)
The Fortis was with me recently for servicing, I was impressed with the quality although the watch is too big and chunky for me.
I can’t imagine owning just one watch, I enjoy swapping and changing between different styles and models, I have a wide taste in watches so I’d never be happy with just one.
£20 in the fundraiser says you don't last 6 months!
