Cost of Breguet Bracelet - wow

Breguet have gotten back to me with a quote for a SS bracelet for my incoming Breguet. I was expecting it to be a grand at most, but they want £3400. For a SS bracelet. That's £3400.

I'd love to hear a justification for that. Ultimately though - I blame the customers.

Sadly that is part of the package with Luxury goods, i would imagine they overcharge for servicing or repairs also

Wow! Are you sure it's not a platinum bracelet with stainless steel plating?

That's a definite "ouch" but it's luxury goods pricing - Birkin bags come to mind.

We need some kind of list to inform prospective buyers of the potential (servicing) costs of these fashion items.

I was quoted £1620 for the steel option on the JLC Polaris and declined it. Makes it look a bargain in comparison to the Breguet.

Less than £200 away from a Tudor Black Bay METAS certified master chronometer on oyster!

Their bracelet will be better finished though.

Makes Patek's £1000 rubber strap look cheap!

So there is a used one on Chrono24 but anyone know what the discolouration on the clasp is? just normal wear & tear? If so, can it be reconditioned/repaired back to original?

Almost looks like wear to a plated surface, which would be a surprise to find out it is a plated base metal on a £3.4k bracelet.
    Cheers..

Just looks like metal-on-metal rubbing marks to me, perfectly normal on clasps.

I've never come across this - on a wide selection of watches over 15 years. I'd be right pissed off if that happened on my £3.5k bracelet.

Could it be then that this bracelet is not kosher?

Blancpain charge the best part of £3k for their Fifty Fathoms titanium bracelet, so it’s not just Breguet.

Both owned by the Swatch Group so perhaps no coincidence.
