How sad they are wiping out the bees

by quirk of fate Mrs H has just killed a 'regular' wasp

    here's a comparison pic !

Question : where can I move where these things don't exist ? Are they something to do with Brexit ?

Don't panic, it isn't an Asian Hornet - they are the newly-arrived ones that are killing our bees. Your new pet is an ordinary common or garden hornet that we have had for thousands of years, relatively peacefully cohabiting with our many varieties of indigenous bees.

I have never seen one on St. Kilda. That might be worth considering.

It is a European Hornet, not an Asian Hornet.

However the European Hornets aren't welcome any more, the Asian ones might be if they can pick fruit

Malta is overrun with hornets at present. I killed these two brutes yesterday as they were trying to steal the dogs’ breakfasts. They scare the crap out of me.

Had two European Hornets enter the bathroom this year. I don't feel justified in killing living things unless I want to eat them, or am under direct attack. So I just caught the little blighters (transparent Hummus pot and postcard) and released them unharmed outside.

'et vivere, reservate' as they used to say.
