hydrocele, any experience with this guys?
Diagnosed and ultrasound done, not a good experience, lots of lube!
I had one some years ago, following a hernia repair operation. For those that don't know, it's an accumulation of fluid in the sac surrounding the testicle because the 'drain valve' is blocked - basically it meant I had a massive left testicle. Other than having to arrange myself carefully when sitting down, there weren't any real problems.
The repair, as I understand it, involved draining the excess fluid and removing the sac so that it couldn't fill up again. That's probably nothing like what was actually done, but it's how I remember it being described. Post op there was the usual extensive bruising to the whole groinal region that you get after having work down there. There was a slight numbness / loss of sensation to that side of the scrotum , which passed after 18 months.
The worst bit was the final consultation, where the consultant squeezed the testicle just enough to be uncomfortable, and then started an extended conversation with me.
