I suggest you reword that "closed" question with an "open" one (e.g. "When will the Speedbird III be in stock again, please Eddie?") ;) :D :P
Cheers,
Guy :)

The case backs are being engraved today and tomorrow and then another week for assembly and testing. I could have them by the end of next week.

Hoorah!
I got Eddie'd!
:D
What else will you need to do after "hav[ing] them by the end of next week" that would slow down availability beyond the end of next week, such as packaging?
Thanks ;)
Nothing really unless I'm selected as the guest celebrity in the jungle. Celebrity, I hear you ask? Well, I don't know half the clowns in there now so why not?Originally Posted by hologon

Wouldn't it be a hoot if some A list celebs got the Precista watch bug and started hanging with Eddie? Would we call him the "Watchman formerly known as Platts"? :P I'll get my coat.
No, we would only know him as:
(Where are we going worlok?)
Eddie, if you are selected, please, please keep your clothes on. Please. :D

Hi All,Originally Posted by swanbourne
I'm new here and this is my first post. I've been a silent observer for a few months now. Looking for my first automatic watch purchase. I've settled on the Speedbird 3 as being the "one" I want, so as a few here just waiting patiently for it to come back in stock.
Eddie, are there any further updates on the availability of the Speedbird please?
As far I understand from Eddie (in a PM) the new batch of SB III are due to be shipped on Monday. So maybe as of Tuesday Eddie will have them in stock or at least in house.
I'm currently in Afghanistan and missed out twice but sure hope that I have time and PC (internet) to check out on Tuesday.
That's great news, thanks for the update. I'll keep an eye on the web site this week.Originally Posted by dutchguy2

First post from me on a positive note. Ordered one as well after religiously checking this website for the past months. :)
Hope it comes in time (5 december) to gift it to myself for ´Sinterklaas´. :santa:
you have xmas day on 5th dec?? :shock:Originally Posted by Japie Krekel
Not as such, but we have a somewhat similar holiday on 5 december in the Netherlands.
It also features a bearded old guy in a funny hat that likes to give out presents, so I figured the christmas smiley to be suitable
Although my birthday isn't until the 20th.

eddie, youd better get in your sleigh and give rudolph some "speed" and you might make itOriginally Posted by Japie Krekel

In fact Santa Claus is an adaptation from the dutch tradition of Sint Nicolaas or Saint Niclas, patron saint of the seamen and the children and in his lifetime bishop of the now turkish city of Myra. He was reputed to present small gifts and candy for the children that behaved well in the past year on hist birthday the 5th of december.Originally Posted by alexaff

Santa Claus is just a tradition taken over (most likely) by other immigrants from the dutch people living in new york (which started out as a dutch colony long ago)

so Santa is fake Saint Nicolas is the real deal!

Mines ordered!! Been waiting for this one for so long - thank you Eddie and proud to become a Timefacters patron.
Cheers.
I received 43 pieces yesterday and put it on the site around 1800 hrs without any announcement. I have orders for 32 this morning, so not many left. I didn't send out the mailing list because their are 3800 subscribers and only 43 watches :( .

Think I've just managed to get my order in. Fingers crossed!
A testament to how cracking the watch is Eddie :DOriginally Posted by swanbourne
I took mine along to a local meet last night and a couple of the guys who had dismissed it from seeing pictures actually LOVED it in the flesh, I expect a few folk who bought one thinking it would be an easy flip if they didn't "bond" have been surprised and kept it... I know I have!!
I like the design elements of the Mk xv but I prefer the sterile dial of the SBIII.
The watch is an amazing value from what I can see. Can't wait to receive it.
Chris
Already got an e-mail from ups, even after messing up the shipping in my first go. That is some service.
´Sinterklaas´ is now a very real possibility. :D Thanks Eddie!
Mine has got to go to Afghanistan but since I'm Dutch too I hope it will be here on Friday aswell :bigsmurf: .
Sending via a BFPO address from the UK to here normaly takes 3 to 5 day's so It will probably not make it in time :bounce: .
Exception: UPS Internal Activity Code.
I wonder if they've taken it out of the box to play with it. Yikes.
Chris
Weird, I got the same error. Huh. I'm in Illinois; maybe UPS saw the upcoming snow and freaked out. I wouldn't be surprised...Originally Posted by specialEd
You probably tried to track it before they scanned it into the system back at the depot. UPS send out the tracking number as soon as I process the shipment but it can be another 5 or 6 hours before they collect it.Originally Posted by specialEd
