Something something Owl filler cap, something something.
One of the workshop's customers' wife came in this morning. She'd called her husband telling that her Mini smelled bad and she was afraid that her car would go up in flames. She was nearby and her husband suggested that she should make a stop at the w/shop. She did.
And yes she was right! There was a distinct smell! And it smelled worryingly! After opening the bonnet, this is what we saw...
A little dead owl. But not not a single feather lying around in the engine bay, the front of the car totally intact, no signs of a collision. Nothing.
The Mystery of the Mini and the Owl...
Our idea is that a marten has caught the owl and has stashed it under the bonnet. But we're no biologists. What do you think?
Something something Owl filler cap, something something.
Owl the hell did that get there?
Maybe it was a drive by hooting?
I bet it didn't give a hoot.

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
Ha! These are nice: we have different words for that in Dutch and these phonetics work here. Sadly.
Talking of smelly owls, had a woman come in with a rancid smell coming up in the cabin of her Evoque a few years ago. Soon found the issue, a black cat had crawled up underneath the lower cover and obviously got caught up in the fan when she started it. When we told her what it was she instantly burst in to tears as her cat had gone missing a week or so before. Not a particularly nice experience especially when the deceased moggy came out in pieces.

When that bonnet came down the owl said “if that gets ….tight on I die…”

It’s a bit of a hoo-dunnit?
Is there a suspicion of fOwl play?
