You would indeed. I knew he was a top coach but I’ve been very surprised at how well he’s doing with what is only an above average squad.

Spurs odds-on to beat Bournemouth? Not on your nelly, bookies have got that wrong, worth laying off Spurs on Betfair.

Far from over. Nice to see Bentancur back after his treatment from The Butcher, though.

I'm getting sick and tired of the turgid sh*te I'm seeing from Arsenal this season. It's not as if Arteta hasn't been given money to strengthen.

I think we should start looking at a new coach.

I think that’s a bit harsh given the quality of Liverpool and City. I still rank them fourth best in the league.

Finishing behind City is understandable but finishing behind Liverpool and Villa would be shameful.

As I type Fulham have gone 2-1 up.....

I think he means Spurs rather than Villa which is either trolling or insanity. I don't see Arsenal challenging for any silverware this season which is interesting considering the massive financial outlay. I've never thought Arteta was a top coach but he's still relatively young and very much still learning his trade. It's what the owners think that matters though.

finishing behind Liverpool won’t be shameful it’ll be inevitable, Klopp is in a different league to arteta unfortunately for arsenal.

Looks like it, though they were never going to be real contenders this season for me.

Klopp is for sure but the Liverpool 1st XI isn't, moreover Liverpool finished 5th last season and Arsenal outspent them so to lose 4 places to Liverpool would be a massive cock up.

Absolute bottling tw*ts. Arteta out. Get De Zerbi in.

I’d take three players from Arsenal - Odegaard, Saliba and Rice. Rest of them wouldn’t get a look in.

Liverpool finished 5th because they had 21 injuries in the first 20 games. Back end of the season Liverpool were flying.

Well I think if you did a combined Arsenal/Liverpool XI the absolute shoo-ins would be Alisson, Salah, Rice, Van Dijk, Odegaard, Saliba and Partey (when fit). The others are maybe more marginal and choice being a toss up.

Add Man City to that selection and the shoo-ins become Edersen, Salah, Van Dijk, Saliba, Rodri, Stones, Haaland, Foden, Silva, Dias, De Bruyne.

That's pretty telling when it comes to figuring out the likely destination of the title.

I think Arteta deserves a lot of credit for getting Arsenal so far up the league 2 seasons running with such a second rate squad. The lack of quality is showing now.

Liverpool and Man City are still not playing anything close to their potential . Whichever sorts itself out first will walk away with the title.

  20. #3770
Never rated Arteta, been saying since last season he needs to go.

His arrogance is crazy for his lack of ability. We have a good squad if we had Klopp or a decent manager in charge they would get way more from the team.

Not addressing the striker issue and buying Kai was just stupid, constantly playing zinchenko as a left back that plays in the middle is just stupid, playing Raya, stupid. I could go on. Our football is awful, he just wants to win the pointless possession game over actually winning the game. I think we have 1 shot on target today after the Saka goal.

    Arteta out asap.

yeah guess you are right Ryan , it’s not as if the season before last we got to all the finals and lost the league marginally to city.

when playing well city and Liverpool are in a league of their own, arsenal had a go last year while we had a year off and fell well short , they aren’t a title or cl winning side .

Yes but your squad was different then. You had Mane, Firminho, Henderson was younger, Fabinho etc.

It's not the same squad power this season.

Are these Arteta out shouts sarcasm?

Pathetic to turn on him after taking us from a total joke, nothing, mediocre team, into genuine title contenders and back in the Champions League.

How quickly some forget the turgid football and horrendous results from late-Wenger and Emery. Let's not forget Arteta has already won an FA Cup too. He's not elite yet, needs to win a few big pots before you can say that - but he's done an insanely brilliant job, which was far too big for an experienced and superb manager like Emery to handle.

So, no - Arteta in. Yes I'm not happy with his approach this season, we haven't played quite as scintillating football - but he's trying to learn from last season. I think he's gone overboard with the control aspect and needs to bring some of the attacking verve back - but despite not being at our best we are still in the mix. Pathetic that fans are so lacking in patience when we are likely to be only 5 points off the top with half the season still to go! And they have the temerity to call the players bottlers.

The glee in Drury’s voice every time Liverpool look like scoring is unbelievable. I bet he’s got his cock in his hand. Gomes should have been booked on six minutes.

    I’m turning the sound off.

This is basically Newcastle's 1st team minus Trippier right? Maybe Botman.

im all for a bit of blind loyalty to your team but come on, that’s a stone wall
Penalty even Gary Neville had to admit it.

Liverpool making hard work of this we should be 3 up, I reckon Newcastle will have someone sent off in the second half.

Or we will, two unnecessary yellow cards at the end of that half.
