ETA 7753 Silicon Hairspring / Balance Assembly Compatible with Sellita SW510M ?

I want to grab the balance assembly off an ETA 7753 with a silicon hairspring and transfer it into a Sellita SW510M, and transfer whatever parts between the two to make it work. Can this be done?

    Thanks!!

Are you sure the 7753 has ever had a silicon hairspring? If it has it's news to me, but I`m always happy to stand corrected.

I`ve no idea what your skill level is so I can`t advise, but unless you're confident and capable of stripping a chronograph movement down, and adjusting the end shake on the replacement balance if necessary, I would advise against.

Frankly, I can`t see the point. In my experience dealing with approx. 20 7750 movements in the past few years they generally keep good time, isochronism is usually excellent despite the somewhat humble reputation the movement has (unfairly) developed, I`m struggling to see a reason to modify one to be honest.

God loves a trier, go for it if you feel you must.

Thanks so much for your advice. It's from a Hamilton chrono with silicon hairspring, the H-51-si. I wouldn't be doing it, I would be asking a watchmaker to do it, but I want to check if it's even possible. I have tried to research as much as possible, and the most I could find is approx. 80 parts are interchangeable between the ETA and Seliita, maybe less with a Si hairspring (I don't know).

Suggest you discuss with the guy who's going to be doing the work.
