Finestkind-pretty good, compared to the garbage being made these days.
Rebel Moon on Netflix was so draggy. It could have been so much better

Right, that’s Where Eagles Dare and Die Hard done, today is the 1999 Sir Patrick Stewart version of A Christmas Carol, my personal favourite, link to decent quality copy below:

We did Die Hard last night, still not feeling festive though.
This is a a dark one ...

Watched Dead Man’s Shoes again tonight, that really is a classic
Watched Saltburn last night it's superb!
Not my typical choice of film but thoroughly enjoyed it. The acting performances by Barry Keoghan, Rosamund Pike but especially Richard E Grant were brilliant
I cant recommend it enough
Hotel Transylvania last night, superb fun. Sequel next.
Just done that tonight. Brilliant
I saw Sophie in the Village at Latitude in the summer, very close, won’t see that track in the same light again.
Pitch
Barry Keoghan is one of those rare actors that comes along once in a while who have a presence even in silence that captures your full attention.
I think he was standout in “Banshees”
But if you like his work try “Killing of a Sacred Deer” from 2017 went somewhat under radar but worth finding.
Just watched The Shepard. Must watch I think for de Havilland fans, but just a lovely short film altogether.
Anyone watch Polite Society on Sky?
Good fun action comedy. I thought it was well done - and actually funny, which seems increasingly rare.
Gritty.
Its not Electra Glide in Blue but I enjoyed it.
Three quarters through Philadelphia with Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington. What an incredible film. Free on Prime.
Just watched Bridge of Spies again (I'd seen it on a plane somewhere, but my wife hadn't seen it, I tend not to rewatch films) and it was excellent (great performances by Hanks and Rylance, especially).
Put him and Denzel Washington in a film and it's hard to imagine it wouldn't be brilliant, really.

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
I’ve been dipping back into some classics recently. The French Connection (and French Connection 2). One of those occasions where the sequel is as good if not better than the original.
I watched Killers of the flower moon recently. A very long film, but it didn’t feel it.
It’s a very interesting story that I wasn’t aware of before.
Race with the Devil.1975. Peter Fonda, Warren Oates, Loretta Swit and Lara Parker.Excellent.
One of my favourites. Slightly similar vibe to Wicker Man made 2 years earlier. This freaked me out age 13.

We watched the latest Kaurismäki film last night, Fallen Leaves. Not much happened, not much was said. It was wonderful.

Quite enjoyed Equaliser 3 last night . Just watching Society Of the Snow, the story of the 1972 rugby team air crash in the Andes. Very well done so far.
Cheers..

It was a trailer when I went to see Saltburn, Napoleon and Killers of the Flower Moon. My immediate reaction was, oh another film with Carey Mulligan playing…….Carey Mulligan.
( Having said, that she did make an attempt to act in Saltburn, bit of a parody though).

Just watched Saltburn, what a pile of shit
Anatomy of a Fall. Wow, just wow. Cannes Palm D’Or and 5 Oscar nominations, for once well deserved. Sandra Huller gives probably the best female lead performance I’ve seen in years.
Watched 'Hell or High Water' and thought it was pretty good. Almost worth it for the diner scene alone.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Another for the future watch list from Guy Ritchie. Features Superman and Aquaman/Reacher Good to see Ritchson getting another movie role.
Godzilla Minus One was fantastic. It was well worth seeing it at the cinema.
The Beekeeper…Stath on stinging form in enjoyable hive hokum that buzzes along…not a classic but an improvement on The Meg.
