A month back we stayed at our Friends place at Larpool viaduct.A short and very easy walk over the viaduct into Whitby. We walked in and taxied back.
Look on google maps "Larpool viaduct" and you will see the houses.Theirs is privately owned at the very bottom. But most you see are available to rent.....great location.Swimming pool too at the top for use with those at the top of the hill at Captain Cooks Haven.

Before I settled down Whitby was a favourite place for a night or two, after numerous nights in both good, and not so good accommodation I found this place...

And only a very short ''stretch of the legs'', into the center.

Stayed there as well, lovely place but car parking can be a pain as the car park is tiny and fills up quickly.
We used to stay in the Bagdale in the early 2000 Mike the manager was a great guy always did us a good deal.
Many thanks for all the recommendations. We have found somewhere on AirBnB and are looking to book soon. Many thanks
