Bournemouth got relegated in 2020 finishing a point behind Villa when in the final game of the season the Villa keeper carried the ball over the line but the line assistance system was 'broken'. Had Villa conceded that goal they would have been relegated instead. Bournemouth did get an apology, so every cloud.....
VAR would have been able to verify visually that the ball had crossed the line and they would have stayed up.
Not this nonsense again. "Villa would have been relegated". I didn't realise the game and indeed the rest of the season would have finished the second after Sheffield United had scored. A mistake was made, like mistakes get made every single weekend. We had some absolutely shocking errors go against us that season, like when we scored a perfectly good goal against Palace that was wrongly ruled out, and conceding a penalty at Old Trafford for Fernandes planting his boot into Konsa's shin.
It wasn't the final game of the season in any case, it was against Sheffield United the first game back after lock down, with ten games to go.
He will be missed.

I'm just hearing VAR have just awarded a very late penalty for Liverpool against City at Anfield. Title race still open.
Checks on noTAGlove ‘s congratulations to Citys previous trophy victories .
But, all jokes aside, I like Jurgen . He’s done a great job . He’s not the messiah , he just came up against the best manager ever to draw breath .
I’ll look forward to seeing him at Madrid when Ancelotti retires .
Yes I can see Jurgen going to Real after Carlo. He’s literally won everything possible in club football so is a natural fit for the biggest club in the world.
I love Pep, I think he’s a football genius, but Ferguson will take some shifting as the best ever. Pep inherited one of the greatest teams ever assembled at Barca with the greatest player that ever lived so you could say he possibly should have won the UCL more times than he did. His legacy isn’t finished at City but with what he’s spent, winning one UCL won’t be good enough.
Good luck Jurgen, you’ve been a first class PITA but you’re a EPL hall of famer for sure.
I can’t agree mate .
First up , Ferguson spent more than anybody in his tenure at Utd . Inflation points to him far outspending Guardiola during his time at the helm . He won two Chumps Leagues in 20 odd attempts .
I don’t get the fascination with the CL . It’s a cup competition. I’m glad we’ve won it but it’s just meh ! for me and most City fans . Saying you’re the best team in Europe because you win the thing is akin to saying you’re the best in England if you win the FA Cup . Interestingly , there’s an interview with Phil Foden today and he was asked if he’d prefer back to back CL or the Premier League . He agrees with me .
City could ( perhaps should ) have won the CL at least a few times . Games against Chelsea , Liverpool ,Spurs , Lyon , Real Madrid on three occasions , Monaco etc were all matches we should’ve won in if the stars were aligned .
Anyway , looking forward to tomorrow. Win or lose , the 115 will be back next season .
A couple of £50 million full backs and we are all set .
Cheers Bingo , it’s been a blast

Rather odd about De Zerbi’s exit from Brighton unless he’s already signed up for ???
Yep, has taken over three world class squads and can pick a team from that. My 88 year old mum could do that. It’s a bit like Zidane at RM, Christ even Big Sam would win the CL managing RM.
Look at Ancelotti at Everton, a top level manager who was soon found wanting. He got us a win at Anfield which I thank him for, but not much else and buggered off back to RM as soon as he could and won the CL the same season. Was he a top manager or just able to select a team from a world class squad. The latter I’m guessing.
Alex Ferguson and Brian Clough are a million miles ahead of these modern GOATs. To be fair to Klopp, Liverpool weren’t much when he took over and he is one of the better modern managers at bringing the kids along.
'Man Utd in better place than last year' - Ten Hag.
An interesting perspective on the state of things.
I believe that when it gets tough for him in terms of another oil money club outspending him or city stop keep giving bucket loads of cash to plug gaps every six months he’ll bugger off
He’s not got the melons to tough it out for example he would touch that United job with a barge pole.
Bit of a non event day today really, I’ll watch Everton because that’s what I do then I’ll turn over to Countryfile or some other such crap. Certainly cannot be arsed watching City get another PL title or the supporters at Anfield crying their eyes out.
Put it this way, if Pep was managing Arsenal this season and last season we'd be talking about Arsenal winning 2 titles in a row.
Arteta is a superb and improving manager. He's in the bracket below Klopp and Ancelotti. Probably on par with Emery and Alonso.
But Pep is the GOAT.
Lol
City 1-0 up after 2 mins, thanks West Ham for making a game of it.
Done and dusted.
Ah up !!!!
What watch is Klopp wearing?
Is it a Rolex Sea Dweller?
Handball, not that it matters you cheating bastards.
Absolutely nailed on handball. Just hope Arse don’t win the title on that goal
That’s that for this year - cracking season for the most part.
On to the Euros where we can all get behind England only to realise Southgate is the manager!! 😂
