becoming a TZ member ....
Mine has to be joining a great and friendly forum.
Also purchasing a fantastic Anonimo from Rousey and Daveinwales meltdown over a picture of a plastic poo.
What have been your favourite forum highlights of 2008?
becoming a TZ member ....
Welcome the the mad merry go round. Brilliant forum and you will start to curse the moment you joined when you see all the pieces for sale. So many watches and too few arms to wear them on.
Welcome to both of you.
Simon
In general reading Mike´s (Mr1973) posts. The guy is hilarious
Thanks mate. So, how do you want your money? Paypal like the last time?Originally Posted by JCJM

Thanks for your kind offer Jussi. My wife is indeed in need for a good laugh :mrgreen:Originally Posted by JCJM

I love TZ-UK, my most visited site, thanks Eddie, you have given all of us sad lonely people a place to stay :D
Thanks,

i found the whole situation uncomfortable and rather disturbing, hate seeing people stressed and hate even more when people get a raw deal.
Both came out of the rose bush smelling of horse manure in the end, and i bet both felt a bit of a prick ( pun intended)
Thanks,
Andrew

Griff on the benefits of socialism. :D
Probably after I got a DSLR, put some pics in the DP section, and someone said they liked them. 8)

All this favourite moment made me think of this old one, which I laughed my ass off. It was a reply to some grotesque eba* offer for a busted up watch bought by xpatUSA. The piccies has gone missing, by the reply still stands.

For me its all the great guys i have traded, sold and purchased with. The users who have helped me and some particular posts that made me chuckle   There is some real gents about in the WIS community and all have the same sense of humour
Joining TZ. And within days of joining, bagging a stunning LaCroix Jour et Nuit! I would also add that joining TZ has helped me see Rolex in a different light. Never really considered buying one before, but the enthusiasm for them on here got me interested in them. I guess it's the history and the high esteem people hold them in. I might have to start saving for one now....
Favorite Moment - organising the PRS-50 pass around :)
Worst Moment - the John vs. John spectacle :(
Looking forward to what 2009 brings :D
Anti-magnetism demo. Just lucky I didn't have a glass of milk.

There were many, but Bubi's insane anti-magnetic testing must rank among the top three! :D
Watching London Luke attempt to defend the indefensible, digging himself constantly deeper. And my subsequent discovery of the "Ignore" function.
There have been many more positive moments in 2008, all of which are memorable. But the above has to be my favourite if I'm being honest.

I have to agree Ben. Something I didn't expect when I joined this place but a very nice side effect none the less. Take it easy and see you down the pub in a couple of weeks time mate.Originally Posted by ben4watches

Let's not forget Wali, and his proabable later alter ego whose name i forget.... OK some may have hated him, but i found him hysterically odd :D
Monkey C*n*s being a thread header i remember with much hilarity :)
discovering this forum quite by chance - have been on t*m*z*n* for ages - finding a local version that is even better was ace! (if a tad spenny lol)
Peter Aylett.
He took the trouble to receive a fountain pen in the USA, bring it back to the UK, post it, all the while keeping me informed, and then charging me a donation to the RNLI.
A good TZ guy.
HAHA, yeah Wali did add some excitement didn't he. I forget his reincarnation name but I'm sure he'll be back in 2009 he seems to like the format here  :wink:Originally Posted by GraniteQuarry
Hard to pick a favourite, but I "quite liked" the moment when after spotting a post by Eddie saying he had a couple of DA37's in stock he responded to my "suppose I'm too late" message, to say actually, I wasn't :D
Andy
Wanted - Damasko DC57
Which reminds me of my least favorite moment - I was trying to buy one of those DA37s, got to the checkout and then came up against a new VISA security check on my credit card - a password which I had forgotten. No sale. Aaaaaargh!
The consolation was an impulsive buy of a Sub Date from Jed that afternoon. All's well that ends well......still looking for a DA37 tho
I fail to see the hilarity in thet thread title :lol:Originally Posted by GraniteQuarry

Wali was an interesting diversion, I predict that in 2009 he will return in some form, make a few crass anti-war comments, say some surprisingly interesting things about watches then get drunk one night and go bonkers again. I just hope we don't get another one of those stomach churning London Luke threads, or the John V John threads.
Not had a favourite moment as such. Learnt some interesting things, and not just about watches, had a lot of laughs and met/dealt with some decent guys (you know who you are :D )
Looking forward to more of the same next year, might even try flipping as it seems to be all the rage
