I like Snatch (the movie!). And bricktop was one of the nicest characters
One of those things that makes me wonder when I see them every now and then....so why is your username what it is?
I'll start.
964RS - is a 1992 Porsche 964RS that I use on racetracks around the UK and, as I guess most people are the same, is the same one I use on just about every forum!
:D
I like Snatch (the movie!). And bricktop was one of the nicest characters
Smashie, had it for years, long before bloody Harry Enfield.
Mainly because I used to break stuff, cars, bikes, bones

1) I'm happy not to hide behind an alias.
2) I can't be arsed to think up anything.
3) I like simplicity.
So I use my name on all forums.

My watch buying keeps me very low on funds, hence the name :D
Cheers,

Many moons and many boards ago I was rather frustrated at finding that every conceivable permutation of Andy was taken so I just tried The Wibbler. Even that was taken so I tried the increasingly bizarre The Stoat and finally found a free username. Been using that on all boards for simplicity ever since.....
Adam's my 1st name, 164 was the 1st Panerai I owned.
Simple really!
Cheers
Adam
I use this name on several forums. LOTR fan.
This sounds really nerdy, but about 10 years ago when I registered on my first forum, I was really into the Technics SL1210 turntable, hence my initials and 1210.
I'd love to change it but I can't without wiping out my post count here! :(
After much deliberation with myself I decided against registering as swimmerboy.
many years ago people in the pub use to say "go and see ben for watches" as I used to do everybodies batteries and bracelet adjustments.
Quite often sat in the corner of the pub adjusting bracelets just ofter Christmas as a lot of people got warches as presents :)
A pint per bracelet was the going rate :drunken:
Cheers,

Horologos = someone who works with watches/clocks/wrsitwatches.
I lived in Africa and was known to be interested in any mechanical wristwatches, so was known as the mad watch man.
Being of greek extraction I decided to use the name horologos or trelos(mad one) 'both from the greek words.........." a quote from the movie my big fat greek wedding.
Anyway I am Horologos aka Simon
I used to work in graphic design as disciplesofdesign.com - Now use it on all forums.
My name is Michael Ayling. QED.

A while back I was introduced to a Japanese girl at a party who thought it was "Toshi" and refused to call me anything else. We ended up getting married and 14 years later I'm still known as Toshi to my wife, family, close friends and just about everyone who knows me :D
Its my number plate and I use this now on most forums - the only exception being "Avforums" which was the first one I joined a few years ago when I got into home cinema. For the life of me I couldn't think what to use and I was telling my mate, saying "I am the man with no name". He replied, you are "the spaniard" then - that's the name Oliver Reed gave to Russell Crowe when he told him he was "the man with no name"".
Because it's the name of a bootlegged Led Zep album, and I liked it!
Nothing obtuse....
My first name is Chris - and I live in the UK

My name's Gary and I'm rather partial to the odd Omega. Actually I'm agent orange on most other forums (can't remember why I chose that now) but the lads here rechristened me when my allegiance was discovered.

I always found this to be rather interesting (via Wikipedia):
One of the few things that is known of Fuzûlî's life during this time is how he arrived at his pen name. In the introduction to his collected Persian poems, he says: "In the early days when I was just beginning to write poetry, every few days I would set my heart on a particular pen name and then after a time change it for another because someone showed up who shared the same name". Eventually, he decided upon the Arabic word fuzûlî -- which literally means "impertinent, improper, unnecessary" -- because he "knew that this title would not be acceptable to anyone else". Despite the name's pejorative meaning, however, it contains a double meaning -- what is called tevriyye in Ottoman Divan poetry -- as Fuzûlî himself explains: "I was possessed of all the arts and sciences and found a pen name that also implies this sense since in the dictionary fuzûl is given as a plural of fazl ('learning') and has the same rhythm as ‘ulûm ('sciences') and fünûn (‘arts')".
Alas, the first set of meanings seems to be more accurate in my case :D
because it is my first name and the name on the watches i make, simple as that
have a look in my sig
Short for Jon Murgatroyd and the same name I've used on Forums etc. for 10+ years :)

Many years ago when I first started needing account names on the web I tried to register my initials - NGW, but found that this was already taken. So changed to a phonetic version en-gee-w. I now use this on all forums.

'Chartman69'
I like to dabble in Stocks/shares as a Hobby ( as well as watches, cars ,Mcycles, flying etc..) and was given this name about 8 years ago on a couple of Finance Forums
( http://www.advfn.com & http://www.moneyam.com ) as I used to try and understand stock ' candlestick' charts and predict who was going up and who was going down :D The '69' well I will leave that for you to decide
Anyway my chart reading wasn't too hot  , coupled with market volatility I am still only dabbling and dont yet have a pad in Monaco :(
It is a combination of my eldest sons names, Angel and Chema (a nick name of Jose Maria, which is also my name). And, yes, in Spain a man can be called Angel and, partly, Maria! In fact, they are quite common names. As for why I chosed those two, I do not remember, but I needed a nickname for ebay I could remember and I suppose I came out with that combination..
