I was there, and in the lucky position that I would be going home happy whoever won. :Dwembley last season.....gutted! (leeds fan who had to sit quiet in the donny end until they moved us)

Oh, and I also follow Leeds United as I lived and worked in leeds for a time in the heady days of Don Revie, so I was lucky to have seen one of the best teams ever to turn out on a pitch. Oh how times have changed. :cry:
On the day, the best team did as Donny played the better football. Talking to quite a few of my Leeds Pals, they said they knew they'd loose when they got Donny in the playoff final; would much have prefered Forrest.
The way both teams are going right now it looks like we'll be playing each other again next season. :wink:

I started supporting them in 1989 in my first year at university in Nottingham. I'd never really been into football until being taken down to see Notts at the end of my first week there. They won, and I went to the next home match and the next one etc. By the end of the season we won the Playoff Final at Wembley and I was hooked. I've seen Notts at Wembley 4 times and seen them play all 4 divisions.
Nottingham Forest, strongest team in the Championship (they're holding just about every other bugger up)

another Leeds supporter here.
My father (who was a Leeds fan) took me to Wembley in '73 to see the Cup Final. I was 7, and that was my first Leeds match (we were living in the Midlands, so Saturday's were usually at Stoke, Wolves, Birmingham City etc) and I never looked back. Sitting on my Father's shoulders in the midst of the Leeds fans is a memory that will stay with me, even though the team lost :)

Im a Leeds UTD fan too, from Leeds. I remember my step dad taking me to Elland road late 70s and it costing him 50p to get me in. :shock:

Saw my first match with my dad aged 6 in 1971. Seen them reach the old 1st Division in the late 70's as well as plummet to almost bottom of the 4th in consecutive seasons :cry:
Had a season ticket since 16, and never miss a home game, and in the 89/90 season I saw every league match, home & AWAY.
First and foremost Leeds United (a gratifyingly popular choice in this thread :) )

I was literally the other side of the road to St James's and once saw from my kitchen window one of the funniest sights of my life when a Maccum put most of a tub of Ralgex onto the gentlemans area of a mounted policemans horse. The horse took off like start of the Grand National...

I have no interest in football as such but I do keep an eye on how Doncaster Rovers and Dumfries' Queen of the South are doing, since I was born in the latter and live in the former.
and people no longer consider leeds a big club! lets hope larry grayson is the man to bring the good times back. i was sad macca couldn't cut it but applaud him for trying....

You wouldn't recognize the Strawberry these days.
As for St James's Boulevard, its a new road that runs from SJP to the Redheugh Bridge. Newcastle City Council have been promoting the redvelopment of both sides of it in the rather romantic belief that it will become something akin to the Ramblas of Barcelona, with mixed results. :lol:
