    My first Glashutte

Picked this one up yesterday after a tip off from Andrew of this very forum that Leslie Davies in Brent Cross had some Glashuttes on sale (thanks mate, much appreciated). He was indeed right they had 6 Glashuttes on sale, for me this was the pick of the bunch. A Glashutte Original PanoMatic Lunar. When I saw it at first I was dissapointed it was clearly shop soiled... probably having been shipped round the country in an effort to sell it at full price. I initially walked away from the deal, but thinking on it a little more drew me back for a second look. I considered some of the watches I had walked away from and regretted, and couldnt think of one I had purchased that I had regretted. So I returned to Brent Cross to reconsider, the damage to the watch wasnt so bad and could be cleaned up, and the watch itself was beautiful. The movement the finest I has seen. I decided to go for it and got them to chuck in an extra strap as a replacement for the very large OEM gator that can with it and didnt fit my wrist. Once i got it home I gave it a quick clean up, now I am more than happy with it. Got a bargain price too, 50% off the old list price of £5K, £2.5K paid. A quick check on the list prices revealed current list for this model is 8650 euro, if anyone knows the correct UK list I would be interested to know.

    Some pictures for you.

Nice work - that's an awful lot of watch for 2.5k! Very pretty movement, too!

Gorgeous! I don't think you'll regret it, I know it's a wedge of money but what a lot of watch.

From the Catalogue I got 2 months ago this is listed with a Louisiana Alligator Strap and is £5,100. Whether prices have moved I'm not sure.

That my friend is what I would call a right result. Well done. Great watch at a great price too.

I would say that was a very good buy! what a movement!

    Re: My first Glashutte

What a great deal - they dont come along very often and you have definately done the right thing to take advantage.
I'm not advocating it but i think that could go on sales corner and go for a small profit any time you want.

I am slightly biased as its my grail watch (to be precise its the XL version) but still love the movement.

    enjoy!

I have no intention of selling it just yet. Its the first dress watch I have had that I like. It balances out my modest collection of sport watches nicely. They also had a pano XL half price from £6.5k to £3250, could be worth a shot for someone. REckon they might go a bit more off if pushed.

That's a lovely watch. Semi-micro rotor as well. The rotor doesn't obscure the balance, which makes having a display back more interesting. :)

    Best wishes,

Very nice and love the movement, but aesthetically I'm still not convinced about the arrangement of 'small' dials on the face.

Sounds like a bargain though, enjoy.

I only saw it in the window, it looked fine nothing obviously wrong with it viewing from 12 inches

Beautiful watch - I'd be in a quandary as to whether to wear it with the movement facing out, as it's almost more beautiful than the face!

    Enjoy!

    Re: My first Glashutte

    well then....

after 2 days of clling the store; I finally got through and was told that the XL is in yellow gold, white face (not white as i had hoped for) and is £5000 not £3250

majorly dissapointed as i thought i was about to acquire my grail but its still a good buy for someone
