I'm usually in London once a week at least for work, and Wednesday is my normal day, so I might be able to make it.
I was speaking to Graham (Tekkno) on the phone this morning arranging to meet him for a drink in a couple of weeks and we wondered whether anyone else in the Central London area might fancy meeting up for an evening of beer, watches and maybe a bite to eat? It seems there are get togethers everywhere except London, so it might be nice to change that and put some faces to names - what do you think? :)
We decided that the best nights to arrange this for would either be Wednesday 18th or Wednesday 25th of February. Venue as yet un-decided, but preferably somewhere central and close to public transport.
So if anyone lives or works in Central London and fancies a beer on either of these dates let me know. Oh, and if you have ny suggestions for a meeting place that would be useful too (ideally somewhere where we can get a table and maybe even some privacy - if there will be a few watches around? )

I work in the City and would be up for looking a beer or to whilst admiring some watches. The dates work for me.
Cheers,
Steve
Great idea, a London GTG at last. The 25th would be ok.
I should be able to make it.
cheers
Oliver
Count me in. Long overdue if you ask me! :)
Cheers!

Sounds interesting. I would like to attend. But, my life is not my own at the moment, so I wouldn't know until the last moment whether I could. (And, consequently, I wouldn't want to affect the scheduling.)
Best wishes,
Bob
I might be able to make that, too. Are wives allowed? :D
I'm up for it, if newbies are allowed?

But seriously, I think we should keep it to WIS only, otherwise my wife will want to come, and that would be disasterous
I like the sound of it, but I'm not so sure about taking my lovely watches (well I think they're lovely) into central London of an evening.
Perhaps strapping them to various other hidden err... parts of your body might help? :)

I'm up for it - but work is hectic so I could become a last minute no-show.
Actually met up with a bunch of my Porsche driving anorak mates in town this week.
We met a The Globe (Junction of Mortgate & London Wall) & then crossed the road to Mehek for a curry. The Globe is pretty busy / noisy.
Mehek was certainly pretty full for a Wednesday, but the food, whilst not exactly bargain basement was superb. I'd imagine booking would be essential.
These are of course, only suggestions.

Would love to. I work in Chancery Lane so can get to pretty much anywhere central
Would be up for it... 25th is better for me.
I would certainly be interested in coming along, I can cope with a quick tube in from Harrow along the Met line.
Wow! quite a bit of interest
OK. here's the suggestion.... date 25th February. Venue = Dirty Dicks pub (opposite Liverpool Street Station). Time = 6pm onwards.
The pub has an upstairs which is quieter, and starting at 6pm we'll be able to get a quietish corner. I've met WIS mates there in the past and always felt comfortable getting them out (my watches, I mean  ).
There's also a decent Indian restaurant just around the corner if anyone fancies some food, and it's convenient for public transport.
How does that sound?
If I can find it I'll be there :wink:Originally Posted by Toshi

Good idea. There's a Goldsmiths almost next door, for a quick ogle at the Omegas, Breitlings and Rolex as well. I shall endeavor to attend. :)Originally Posted by Toshi

RESULT!!
See you there.
Sounds Good Rich, see you then.
I doubt I will have anything that is not on a Toshi at the moment... starting to use up my stockpile
 see you then, Jon :DOriginally Posted by b11ocx
I live near Chelmsford, so a trip up to town would not be to difficult. Didn't Dirty Dicks supposedly have a Penny Black hidden on the wall?
Man, you're on form tonight. :DOriginally Posted by Toshi
Excellent idea, count me in.
Will also be doing my best to turn up :thumbright:

If I can be there, I will be. Should know in advance, but maybe not much in advance.

sounds like it will be a pretty large G2G :D
I'll bump this up the weekend before and maybe we can try to gauge numbers then. If it looks like it'll be 10 or more I might have to speak to the pub about reserving a few tables, and maybe booking a table at the curry house if people are keen to have some food (which I know I will be  )?
.
I'm not coming because I'm an unsociable bastard and probably seen all the watches I want to see anyway and because I am working that night. :D
john
Every watch a story.
Yay! I'd love to come along.

If this keeps up you'd better hire the Albert Hall :)
That's exactly what I was thinking :?Originally Posted by Rinaldo1711

Sounds interesting, if I am in London on the 25th and near Liverpool St then I will come along
How about Highgate instead?
Only joking ... see you all there :!:
I'll come along if I'm around.
I should be around for both of those dates Rich
excellent. It will be good to see you again :)Originally Posted by JoT
and it will be the 25th. I completely forgot when discussing dates with Graham that it's my wife's birthday on Feb 18th. Good job I remembered now  :D
Now that could have proven fatal...Originally Posted by Toshi
Have stuck the 25th in my diary.
