    Q: Breitling Airwolf bezel

    Hi :)

Today I had a closer look at the Airwolf (sort of successor of the B1), and what was new to me was that the inner (Navitimer like) bezel does not rotate synchronously to the outer but is slowed down by means of a gear (it seems it's inside a covered chamber on the left side of the case). Any ideas what it's good for, and does the B1 have the same feature?

    Anyway, cool 8)

    Thanks!

    Andreas :)

Yes the B1 has the same - Think it's is all about the slide rule functionality for the bezel. I have instructions somewhere but never bothered to read them.

    Thank you :)

Now that I know the B1 has the same feature I need one (black dial, anyone  )

By the way, http://donindiano.lanetcie.com/watches/ ... slide_rule says the slide rule rotates faster than the bezel, I thought for the Airwolf it's the opposite...

    Cheers,

The gearing in the bezel is very nice. I found it particularly useful to use the slide rule for currency conversions. I was also very anal and rotated the bezel on my B-1 (which Cookie now has) so that the 60 on the slide rule aligned with the 60 on the inner scale.

Must admit i was the same with mine  I remember one of the ones i had must have taken about 40 or 50 rotations to get it lined up properly

Me too. Fortunately mine came pre-aligned.
