Omega Seamaster 2254.50 - strap options sought

Bought this off the SC today which I'll pick up when the funds have cleared.

    Sellers pic

In the meantime and to keep me going until next week does anyone have any strap suggestions, prefererably with pics. I'm thinking black nato but I'd love to see some more options.

    Cheers,

    Gary

Crap photo but I currently have mine on rubber. I've also found a Hirsch Carbon Sport looks good (no photo at the moment), as do black/Bond Natos. If I'm feeling flush I'll try an Omega Olympic rubber next.

Don't any pictures but I'd say that's going to look awesome on a black nato :) Not so sure about rubber though...

Black NATO is good, I've got my GMT stuck on one at the moment:

I used to wear my SMPGMT on Eddie's chunky silicone & very comfy it is...
    .
Currently it's on a Modena watch double ridge rubber. Google Modena Watch
& you'll find it. This strap is very stiff at first & takes several wearings
    to soften.

You got any pics of those combinations? I'd love to see 'em. :P

I wear my SMP GMT on a black NATO or the original rubber, which are both very good combinations.

Thanks for all the replies guys, much appreciated :) .

I really like the look of the natos, both black and Daz's example with the orangy red centre stripe. I like the thought of the double ridged Seamaster strap with fitted ends too but suspect they'll be very expensive, likewise the OEM rubber strap. I've got one of Eddies PP style rubber straps though which I bought for my Sumo, so I'll definitely give that a try.The mesh I find a bit too blingy for this watch if I'm honest though.

Thanks again and keep 'em coming.

    Cheers,

Mine on a black Nato. Personally I don’t think the 2254.50 is quite as home on a Nato as, say, a Submariner or SM300 – maybe something too ‘elegant’ in the bezel, not so much of a ‘tool’ watch. From all the combinations I've tried or seen, I don’t think anything comes close to an OEM strap.

Bracelet only, I reckon. The watch looks too stylised and "delicate" (for want of a better word) for anything else. Omega does a very nice fitted rubber strap but it's something like £2148596205627365 so I can understand any hesitation to buy it.
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!

Sorry sometimes you can't improve perfection, mine stays on the speedie because she looks best that way. IMHO.

I'd agree with a couple of the other guys & leave it on the original bracelet...perfect in every way.

I like NATOs but I've got my Fortis GMT B-42 Chrono on a Di-Modell Chronissimo - I think the waterproof leather offers the wear it everywhere versatility of a NATO but with more class.

I Agree with Andrew your tampering with perfection IMHO. The watch just has'nt got the depth for a strap culture or a Toshi, it was made for the bracelet Speedie or Bond.

Maybe try it on the mesh? It may work??

I'd agree with others; leave it on the original bracelet. When i first got mine i was ging to go carbon but it turns out that the SMP bracelet is the only one i like apart from my Marathons.

This one wasn't too bad looking but I'm with the others. Stick to the steel :)

Re: Omega Seamaster 2254.50 - strap options sought

Bracelet or carbon strap for me.
I do like Natos but not on this watch.

OEM rubber would be good but not at the prices quoted

  33. #33

Re: Omega Seamaster 2254.50 - strap options sought

The bracelet is so goood but for a change i do wear mine on leather and a nato.

I'd like to try it on a genuine Omega rubber strap but at the price it's hard to justify.

I've been enjoying my 2254 on a bracelet for the past week BUT have to say that I love how a black nato really makes the dial POP out at you :)

Never been a Nato fan but I have to admit that the 2254.50 does "pop" on a Nato!!!

Can they be had without the excess material at the side of the watch i.e. a Nato style but with a pin buckle?

Ive the 2254 on OEM rubber but reckon might try it on the Nato having seen these pictures.
The black Hirsch Medici is worth considering too... but if your like me youll keep returning to the bracelet

Have you tried a Sinn 20mm rubber.? I believe these fit the Seamaster case.

Slight curve ball not being the exact model, but Velcro really works on any SMP.

  43. #43

Re: Omega Seamaster 2254.50 - strap options sought

    The never-ending thread .. :)

A picture of the unfeasibly expensive Omega rubber strap mentioned a few times. The SMP is quite "dressy", particularly the silver-bezelled ones, so I think this rather dressy strap complements it quite well. Being rubber, it doesn't lose any ground in the practicality stakes for a dive watch either.

TBH Omega bracelets are the finest you can find. They look and fit so perfectly. I wouldn't mess with that.

Mine fits nicely in Summer, but gets loose as the weather cools. Rather than mess with the bracelet every season, I switch to NATOs for the cooler months. If only it had a micro-adjuster!

I have the GMT SMP currently on Speedy bracelet and as much as I want the bracelet so much, I hate it when my wrist expands or shrink making the bracelet either loose just right or tight. So please Omega make that adjustable clasp available for this model... On a side note. I have an incoming Omega Rubber strap and some nato to play around with my watch.
