 Guys, as a non native speaker I have to say this is unfair. The double tt drives me mad as well, and also the double ss.
Come on, it could have been worse: What about SSATELITTE

They misspelled "metres" too!
I hate to nitpick (or be a or "Besserwisser" or even a "Klugscheisser" as they say in neighbouring Germany  ), but "Corvus" (Corvus Corone Cornix or Corvus Corone Corone) is a crow not an eagle.Originally Posted by Argee1977

I believe meter is the accepted US spelling :wink:Originally Posted by JasonG
Anyway, i've got one of these, as of last week only myself and one other buyer out of a couple dozen delivered had highlighted the mistake to Corvus, they are rather embarrassed to say the least.
Hey ho, goes nicely with my Doxa 5000T which has patended on the caseback :D

Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
 Are you kidding. Guess not - but wow, what a mistake to make for a high profile company like that.Originally Posted by GraniteQuarry

Well done on pointing out the spelling mistake on the Corvus to the firm. Imagine the horror when the knowledge of the mistake spreads in the company. Poor guy who is responsible for QC
I have a copy of the Lonely Planet guide to Western Europe on my bookshelf, with the thick spine emblazoned in 60-point lettering that reads: WESTEN EUROPE. Rather than pulp tens of thousands of copies, they simply inserted an apologetic slip, cheerfully admitting their stupidity. Unfortunately it's rather difficult to do this with a watch.
And yes: it does look like a seagull! Or a duck?
It's a touch better than the penis on the Korsbek, but not much.
Looks more like a flying dodo than a raven or crow.
Rather like those "perfectly genuine" SM300's with certifed on the back.
Far worse IMO is the SIS website which in the paper today points out numerous spelling errors.
Cheers,
Neil.

Yes, but is it.....?
SIS is MI6.
Another good spelling mistake was the year that Newcastle Poly (or whatever it's called now) awarded Batchelor of Arts degrees

You can't trust those early proofs. It clearly says "Kolsterized" on the print, but the production version has it with an 's'. Ne'er mind. I guess it's just anotheir [sic] one that "sliped' through [sic]. And as for the Unitas movement... well. How did they let that one get through the QC?Originally Posted by marcus fenix

PS Still rather like this one. Hey ho...
As far as I am informed, the correct way of spelling it is "kolsterised." It is a registered trademark of Bodycote and that is the way they spell it (Bodycote Kolsterising. ® is part of Bodycote plc, the Thermal Processing group).
So it seems they managed to correct this spelling mistake at least.
I only know this, as I have just sent off a watch to be kolsterised.
